Truth is, the antiwar movement in America died when Obama took office in 2008.

The Global Warming angst also died out with Obama's election and re-election.

Sure, there are occasional pockets of revolution. Every once in a while the lamestream mainstream media runs an antiwar story. Mostly the lamestream mainstream media says nothing about the war.

Welfare has spread throughout the land. The protestors are satisfied. There's no more going out into the streets. Sure, protestors can type away on the Tower of Babel internet. That's about the extent of protest in the Obama years.

Obama came...or was put....into office to placate the revolutionary masses. You've got to give Obama credit, he's done a helluva job for the Pentagon and for big oil.

The vet wrote a scathing letter to Bush and Cheney. I'd of thought he'd at least send a copy to Obama. Bush no longer has the power to stop the Mideast wars. Bush had nothing to do with Libya. The whole Arab Spring thing. The whole 'sending the troops into Africa' thing. Etc...Etc...Etc...

Well, anyway. Obama wasn't included in any mailing.

And this soldier's story will go largely unnoticed.

I'm putting the story on the table knowing full well that there isn't a squat's worth of the antiwar movement left to do anything about protesting the war.

Dang. People don't even want to be bothered about global warming any more.

Albeit, if a Republican is elected in 2016...the whole antiwar/global warming melee will be resurrected.

Meanwhile, an Iraq veterans letter to Bush and Cheney:

Iraq War vet pens ‘last letter’ to Bush and Cheney
An Iraq War veteran who joined the U.S. Army two days after 9/11 has written a powerful open letter to former President George W. Bush and ex-Vice President Dick Cheney accusing them of war crimes, "plunder" and "the murder of thousands of young Americans—my fellow veterans—whose future you stole."

You're right. They have written the Obama admin. a free pass on Afghanistan and a Free pass for Obama's growing Drone War. They no longer have an "enemy/republican" to hate in the White House.

Very predictable though. Don't ever rely on this bunch for anything of substance because that is the essential trait that they lack along with fortitude and moral rectitude. They only protest for political reasons. Nothing more. The human factor is Zero especially when applied to our current and former soldiers. ...

Yea, he shouldve included Obama in his rant. More soldiers have died in Afghanistan in 4 years under Obama than the previous 8 or so years under Bush.
And wtf are we still doing there? Didnt we go there to get Osama?

Quite simple, Obama didn't start Iraq or Afghanistan. No soldier was on the ground in Libya.

So of course that letter would go to those who lied to the American people about Iraq and Afghanistan.

There is no war protest because the progressives are in office. They won. Their disapproval of the war was only a political move.

And frankly, it isn't even a war anymore. I don't know if it ever was. It's all a business now. There aren't casualty reports or hills to be won.
It's all P & L reports.

Just my humble opinion.

Bush implemented the draw down and time table for forces to leave Iraq before he left office.
Obama vowed to bring the troops home from Afghanistan in his first year of office and still hasnt.
Guess he forgot huh?

Really, so I guess Obama hating blinds some to the past.

Implementing a drawdown from a war you outright lied about doesn't make things better. The damage was already done for thousands of soldiers. Obama also did not start Afghanistan.

Hmmmmm.....more than a few people believe Obama is lying to the American public.

But, hey, long as the antiwar crowd gets their welfare checks, no problem?

I'm wiling to wager that the war will still be in full swing when Obama leaves the White House for retirement and memoir writing at his 45 million dollar Hawaiian mansion.

Yes he has decreased the amount of troops on the battlefield, but he has also increased and supported the drone program, and black ops programs which are just as controversial. The amount of transparency in government today is as lackluster as the transparency of similar programs during the cold war.

Obama deserves as much criticism as any on this issue The implications of of his counter terrorism policy are vast to say the least.

Lyndon Johnson started Vietnam...but Nixon got all the blame.

Obama greatly expanded Afghanistan. Socialists don't care.

There is Libya, Syria and Iran. The antiwar crowd could care less.

People will defend the idiot to the very end, never finding any fault in anything that happens during his reign, he gets all the props for any positive news but whatever negative issues pop up, its all "Bush's fault"
3 years from now, he will still be heard whining "its all Bush's fault"

But that's not what this letter was about. it was about the loss of thousands of American soldiers based on lies. Plain and simple.

Republicans never spoke against Bush and his War and Anti-Terror Policies.

But now that Obama has the same policies? He's suddenly become Hitler, Stalin, a socialist and a tyrant.

The world is full of hypocrits.

Actually those ones who lied are progressives who did everything in their power to destroy a man and his party to get in to the white house.

They created a false narrative to say 1 thing was the only reason to go to Iraq when it was not about only 1 thing.

The anti war crowd which is the anti Bush anti republican crowd are silent because they only care when their is an R by their names.

Libya is a good example "we came we saw Gadaffi died.

Oh give me a break. Don't try and re write history because you loathe Obama. This wasn't about Obama. You guys made it about him. Liberals didn't force gwb, condi, powell, or pappa smurf cheney to make it about wmds, yellow cake, and mushroom clouds. That was all bush admin. You couldn't find the truth in the north, South, West or east of anywhere during 2002.

I cannot debate that point.

My post was simply to highlight that Obama is deserving of criticism when it comes to his foreign policy, because while realistic it may be unethical.

That being said I think the Bush administration is guilty of war crimes. However, they will never be prosecuted. While the war we entered in Iraq was instigated under faulty premises, there is still (to this day) to much support for the idea of removing Hussein from power, and it is hard to argue that removing him was indeed a mistake.

Must have mistaken me for a progressive who have a long history of rewriting things.
