Now that the end of the world has past us over,it would appear that 2012 doesn't work for the doom and gloomers.

How about renaming it Doomsday, Apocalypse,or End of the World.
Any other catchy titles?

Apocalyptic Death, Destruction and Renewal.

Should cover it all.

Nice idea.

My suggestion is "Dated predictions", which would have two meanings;
1) Predictions with a date attached to them.
2) Predictions which are "out of date", obsolete.
As each deadline passed, a prediction would move effortlessly from the first meaning to the second.
E.g. "2012" predictions are already in the second category.

There is a thread out there that alleges that there is 300 years of made up time, so we are actually in the 1700's. 300 more years of 2012 threads! Bring on the doom! Yay Mayans!

TEOTWAWKI

It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine

Now I have that song going through my head....
Wow, that's an old song

Deja vu

I think that Doomsday would be the way to go. Pun intended.

To be fair, 2012 was meant to be a year long thing wasn't it?
I didn't read anything about it being the end of the world (I'm talking Terrence Mckenna and the like here) until it got a bit closer, then somehow people starting insisting that it was going to be happening new years eve....

2012 still has some meaning in the context of cycles and being the height of the novelty wave etc - not that any of the discussions going on cover any of that

ATS 2010 (originally ATS 2009) wasn't released until 2011. So it seems we have a tradition of being a year or two late around here.

The 2012 forum is chock full of odd ideas, speculations, even great info that will become relevant with the next big doomsday event. There have been many entertaining world destructions such as: 2000, 2001, 2003, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012 and there is also chit chat now about 2013.

I like the idea of renaming the 2012 forum to capture some of the coming doom porn. You know its just begging to be unleashed.

They should close it and archive it for reference only.
Personally I'm sick of the Mayan stuff that has resurfaced.
However, since we can't stop people from making Doomsday predictions, I suggest a new forum.

Doomsday, or not.
The forum where every day might be your last day on the planet... or not.

Redundant. There's already a HOAX category. Just drop it in there.
