It makes sense from a financial perspective. The large contractor companies charge absurd amounts for their drones. Why pay that much when you can get the public to design them for you for pennies on the dollar?

Taking advantage of people's hobbies and goodwill to further our surveillance State sounds exactly like something the Govt. would do.

the more drones and knowledge of creating and using them that is in civilian hands the better why not a fan of drones at all if the american people can figure out cheap ways to make and utilize them to defend themselves the better
