“Matt, you’re just shaking your head. The whole thing, it makes you nervous, what do you say?” ABC host Martha Raddatz asked.

“To me, imagery and who’s there [at CPAC] and what you say is important, and I don’t think divisions are a bad thing,” Dowd said. “I actually think that a conservative message that is built for the 21st century would be a good thing. CPAC to me reminds me of, you know, ‘Land Before Time,’ and it’s like going to a Flinstones episode in my opinion.”

Raddatz asked if Dowd meant CPAC attendees were dinosaurs. Dowd nodded.

“It’s like a bunch of dinosaurs, most of them are like throwbacks in times, it’s like who’s running for Grand Poohbah of the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes is what it looks like to me,” he said. “When you have Sarah Palin, who it’s an amazing situation to me, between her and the Kardashians, I think you add it up? Between a Palin connection and the Kardashians, there’s 10 reality shows that have been built around that. I don’t think it’s helpful to the Republican Party. I think there are some people, like Marco Rubio there who will become, and are, stars of the party. I think CPAC’s time has come and gone and it’s time for somebody to put together a 21st century conservative agenda.”

I've never watched CPAC (aside from a couple of clips on rightwingwatch), and I don't know much about Marco Rubio aside from his immgration policy, so I can't say much about either. His Sarah Palin comaprison, on the other hand, I can agree with though, in more ways than one.

Kim Kardashian doesn't deserve that

He's right though - the reasonable, intelligent conservatives of the US are being represented by these nutjobs in the media, because they're the loudest. Glenn beck, palin, Bachmann, Perry, Coulter, Limbaugh, Santorum, Aiken, etc. etc. I wouldn't let them run a PTA meeting, let alone represent my ideology

People just don't take it seriously. Ask Bobby Jindal, he knows his is the "stupid party"

the fact that you are supporting ANY kind of political extremism is very disturbing
and for the record youre delusional .....extreme right is fascism ....quite the opposite of liberty (it boggles the mind that people see moving away from more central political leanings as good thing and that most certainly applies to the left as well)

i was being sarcastic.

no i don't support anyone on your european socialist political scale of left or right.

you have no clue what you are talking about.

it boggles your mind to see people moving away from socialism?
you might want to get that "mind" checked out. i think you might have a case of the "obamazombie".

you progressive democrats refer to us conservatives, and libertarians, as "extreme right" when we are not even on your precious little socialist scale.

we are Americans.
we are Constitutionalists
we are Individualists

what is fascist about the constitution?
please enlighten me.

the last thing we want is fascism, or socialism of any kind...

Yeah, the "GOP", whatever that is these days, will continue to get what they deserve. One of their most publicly covered events of the year, and they fail to invite one of their best hopes (Christie) and yet have all these nutjobs up there spewing their usual garbage. WTH?

And don't get me started on Reince's plan to save the party - 'these are the things we need to do to get more votes and win back DC - these aren't really our tenets, but we need to make people believe they are so they will vote for us' - what a load of disingenuous crap..

Sometimes you really want to believe that they aren't really THAT stupid, but then they go and do things like inviting a black person to run a shoe shining station at CPAC

Between this, their batsh#t crazy rehtoric, the lineup of village idiots and has beens that they had speaking it. It makes one seriously believe that they indeed are THAT stupid.

They'll continue to sink into irrelevancy as a result of changing demographics.

Doesn't surprise me. The old dinosaurs of the Republican party hate Conservatives.

They also attacked Regean.

Why would a Conservative PAC invite a non-Conservative?
