You only think in extremes. In my opinion the basic needs like infrastructure, healthcare, basic wellfare should be given into the hand of the
people.
There also should be laws to tax big businesses equal to the common worker.
If there was a world wide flat 15% business tax, there would be no Cyprus bank collapse, no Google tax avasion, more money to put into education,
healthcare and wellfare and companies would pay the countries they work in at a proper rate.
A society always has to care for the weak, BUT competition should always be a big part of any economy. Bureaucrats can never run companies
efficiently, communism is a fairy tale.
What we can do is to have a system of competition while we still help other people, who are less fortunate. Egoism and pure Capitalism leeds to a
society, where everybody only works for himself and is easily controllable.
If people, especially the middle class, would work together and help each other out, form unions and stand against exploitation of labour, everybody
could profit, exept maybe the 1% of trillionaires who may lose 1/4 of their wealth and power.
That isn't any kind of Socialism, that's social cohesion!
