Long story short, a new correspondent was filming in Tienanmen Square, then a Chinese police van arrives and arrests the news team.
The news team, unbeknown to the Chinese police, carry on filming whilst in the police van, saying that they have a new bit of kit that allows them to broadcast live back to the studio without the use of satellite (interesting enough on it's own).
The police seemed to think they were recording for a later news story or programme, and were unaware that the team were filming their detention live.
They were taken to an unknown part of the Forbidden City, reporting all the time from the back of the van. Throughout this, the Chinese police were filming the Sky News team.
They have just arrived at a building, looked like a large classroom or briefing room rather than a police station , and were told that they did not have permission to film where they were filming, but would not say why they had been detained. The Sky corespondent tried to ask why they were detained, but couldn't get a straight answer. He did state that he did not have his passport on him, which apparently is required.
It seemed pretty calm, but you could tell the reporter had no idea where they were being taken. They were eventually told to stop filming and they handed back to the studio.
Interesting one. Sky claim they were only approached once they started talking about the famous Tienanmen Square protest.
Looked like a scene from North Korea, i didn't realize they were like this in China too.
