When I came across this

Squalid illegal children’s home where 29 Indian girls as young as five were found with 600 empty liquor bottles, one broken toilet and in the care of a teenage boy29 children were rescued from the home in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Tuesday Police found 600 empty alcohol bottles and stores of rotten vegetables The group of girls were living in one room and sharing one broken toilet

Suddenly the thought of jumping in the car and going to work isn't so bad.

This is horrible. I hope those girls get the help they need to properly recover from this.
We really don't know we are born and you are right, being sat at work suddenly doesn't seem so bad now.
I dread to think though how many other places in the world there are like that, it breaks my heart.

And many of us Westerners think we had a hard childhood!

We know nothing about sufferance and should think ourselves bloody lucky!

Poor kids... (And to observe that India is a country on the up!)

How terribly sad for these poor children. The world really is Sh!t house for some children isn't it. I hope they are getting the love and care they need.

I'm thankful everyday for my life and thankful none of my days resemble this . My wish is that no child has to suffer, not likely in our current world.
