There has been so little done and done well with Cthulhu mythology and the Macabre why keep repeating the same old movie plot?

Ever see "In the Mouth of Madness" (John Carpenter flick, Sam Neil starring)? This was one of the best Lovecraftian films I can think of.
Another Sam Neil flick, "Event Horizon", doesn't make direct references, but certainly has Lovecraftian themes of a man encountering something beyond understanding, and losing himself to madness.

Have to agree.... Remakes are literally killing the movie industry.
Remakes SUCK so bad.
They're just lazy and 9.9 out of 10 of them are absolute crap.

Just because people are too lazy to read subtitles..... Arrrrgghhh
Seriously.... pisses me off.

No, because they could remake a proven story, with stars that will get people in the theaters, spending $12 a ticket, buying $6 cokes, and $5 popcorn bags.
