There has been so little done and done well with Cthulhu mythology and the Macabre why keep repeating the same old movie plot?

Ever see "In the Mouth of Madness" (John Carpenter flick, Sam Neil starring)? This was one of the best Lovecraftian films I can think of.

Another Sam Neil flick, "Event Horizon", doesn't make direct references, but certainly has Lovecraftian themes of a man encountering something beyond understanding, and losing himself to madness.

Actually I did see both! Event Horizon could have been better but it came close! Still weirds me out today!

Sam Neil is good at being evil LOL

Well let me know. I am gonna skip this one too much hype. Maybe if I hear good things I see in the dollars or rental. Gore also really doesn't do much for me these days anymore.

This is my BOOOMSTICK!

God I loved all 3 movies. I actually sat my fiance down to watch Evil Dead (Original 80's horror) And sadly she did not get it... I was kinda saddened..... Because growing up my Mom let us watch it ^_^ and scared the bejezuz outta us...

Then this Tuesday on the IFC channel they had Evil Dead 2 so naturally I flipped it on and told my fiance' she had to watch it because the new Evil Dead was comming out so I wanted to brush her up on her Book of the Dead Lingo...

Sadly because of the Humor in the 2nd one she dismissed the movie....

But there is hope as I will be taking her to see the New!~ EVIL DEAD!!! Anyone know if Bruce Campbell will make a Camio? LOL that would be awesome~

Army Of Darkness was just Hillarious and I loved that movie as well... All Cult Classics!~ Sadly my fiance' isn't into Cult Classics...... I will break her of this bad habit

So me personally, i'm very excited. I just hope it doesn't end up being a flop... You know remakes...... yea...... But here's to wishful thinking~

Have to agree.... Remakes are literally killing the movie industry.

Remakes SUCK so bad.

They're just lazy and 9.9 out of 10 of them are absolute crap.

Hell I see better fan film re-makes! There is just so much great fiction and seriously scary stuff out there that Hollywood decides to go with same formula. I hate that it either has to be a blockbuster or its a failure.

District 9 is my favorite recent sci-fi because it told the story and used the effects modestly instead of the CGI driving the story!

The entire Horror genre needs another reboot much like how the ring did 11 years ago...but even that was a foreign remake

No, because they could remake a proven story, with stars that will get people in the theaters, spending $12 a ticket, buying $6 cokes, and $5 popcorn bags.

That is the old way of doing it. But because news travels at the speed of Tweet that no longer works. I gave plenty of evidence remakes don't do as well. A bomb of a movie will be known about quickly and avoided. But then maybe this is another one of those that they will make money even if they bomb.

But like I said you will have to let me know because I am not wasting my $23 on this one...not this time! You know that whole fool me once...Plus I really like Jane Levy and really don't want to see her all mutilated for some reason.

Oh and I swear if I see another *(&%ing AD because I have mentioned this movie I will read from the Necronomicon and be done with it!
