Stunningly stupid comment from Vice President Joe Biden. Again. This time, while addressing a group concerned with Domestic Violence, our esteemed "second in command, President of the US Senate and potential 2016 Presidential candidate, qualified "real" domestic violence as "more than just a garden variety slap across the face."

freebeacon.com...

Now watch the duplicity of the American "press corps" NOT report this. Can any of us FATHOM the career ending fallout if anyone without a "D" after their name said something so panderingly stupid? Lets watch this story just fade..."oh that's just Joe."

Dan Quale just read your post, did a fist pump, and said, "Suck it, Biden!"

Joe "Gump" Biden should keep on talking. Really. He's the comic relief for this depressing administration!

Biden sounds about as ignorant as Akin the Imbecile with his election time rape comment.

So, I wonder, can our esteemed Vice President show what constitutes the first line over a "garden variety slap across the face."?

Perhaps we can all ask his wife to come out and demonstrate. I'll just bet she'd be happy to show the world what a real slap across the face looks like after that boner of a thought...and he actually said it too? lol....... Biden is Obama's best insurance policy against anyone doing something stupid or rash. President Biden is a title to scare small children into doing their chores.

Nowadays, any headline that states "Vice President Joe Biden on...." will always get me to click in.

It's like a grab bag of stupidity.

A clever individual could probably make a decent living with a Foxworthy-esque "You might be Joe Biden if..." comedy tour.

I see the funny side of it....but not like Quayle. I don't know if Quayle was better for comedy with Potato-Gate or Murphy Brown. Either one pretty well made his historic footprint in the shape of a clown shoe. He didn't even bother joking about becoming President Quayle. (Oh the comedy that would have produced if floated as a real thing..lol)

Biden actually has stated serious interest in running in 2016. These days? Look at the last several elections. The trick isn't to look good, smart or capable. The trick is simply to make the other guy look worse. However bad, make the other look worse and you win. The guy could actually ...err...goodness...be President someday.

Now I'll have nightmares for a week!

So Mrs. Biden must be on the receiving end of a "garden variety slap" every now and then. You know just to keep her in line after she goes off half cocked with the shotgun on the balcony after she's had a couple of drinks.

Can't wait to see the backlash from the left regarding yet another choice "Bidenism" Not gonna happen... That's just Joe... That's why we love Joe.... He is just so great at saying literally whatever is on his mind or oozing out whatever has been rotting in that brain hole for the past 30 years. Oh Joe. Isn't he just great?

Biden/Michelle 2016 Rock on!!

AN UPDATE:

The day after, Vice President Joe Biden make his incredibly stupid and insensitive remarks on domestic violence, reported above in this ATS thread, yet IGNORED by the lamestream media, the story MIGHT be gaining some legs. Why? Well members of Team Biden (maybe after HEARING Biden's latest gaffe du jour) DEMANDED the camera and iPhone of a credentialed member of the University of Maryland, Phillip Merrill School of Journalism student, Jeremy Barr, and then DELETED all photographs this student member of the Fourth Estate had taken.

Yes. They DELETED photos of Biden standing at a lectern?!? In an attempt to cover his stupid gaffe? Or in an attempt to SILENCE any one else who may have used a recording device and could "make are Secondary Dear Leader sound or look bad."

washington.cbslocal.com...

Welcome to "transparency" Obama/Biden style.

Interesting update. How dare anyone attempt to expose Biden for the Buffoon that he is. The secret has long been revealed. Too bad this student had to have his phone swiped.. Is that even legal? I doubt it....

There is no attempt to cover this so called "stupid" remark.

Let us be honest here..... the original report was an edited video. If you click the link today, the video now has some context to it and now includes the full statement. If one actually listens to the whole thing, his comment makes perfect sense. the article now notes the update:

Update (11:03 a.m. 3/14/13): This clip has been amended to include the rest of the vice president’s sentence. For the record, Biden is in fact opposed to garden variety slaps across the face.

He clearly says, the "garden variety slap across the face" is "totally unacceptable in and of itself", but he is talking more about the progression of Domestic Violence and the tell tale signs of the progression that leads to the death of a partner.

Contrary to popular belief, Domestic Violence does not start out one day where one just smacks another around and on day 2 happens to kill the partner instead. It usually starts with verbal abuse, breaking down the confidence and self esteem, then moves on to a slap or two, then punches, then strangling, and eventually it will continue to progress and the partner ends up dead. This is the context of the statement- and in that context the full sentence and statement makes perfect sense.
