Venezuelan officials have said they will set up an inquiry to investigate suspicions that President Hugo Chavez was murdered by foreign agencies.

Oil Minister Rafael Ramirez told the BBC the United States and Israel were to blame for Mr Chavez's death.

He said he hoped the special commission would provide evidence.

Mr Chavez himself suggested he might have been injected by "foreign imperialist forces" after discovering he had cancer in 2011.

Here we go, the rhetoric has just stepped up a notch!

Of course all of us here on ATS know that intelligence agencies have the capabilities to pull this off... the CIA showed this to us decades ago. However, how one could go about proving this without a shadow of a doubt is beyond me.

I don't see much good coming from this, even if it were true.

The diplomats have already been sent home from the Washington and Caracas, and when the talking stops, often the punches start flying!

Agreed. Even if it is true...they won't be able to prove it...or at least...none of the guilty will care about Venezuelan proof.

If Venezuela is smart they will keep his anti big oil policies going.

lol - one would wonder how those ELF's were targeted so accurately so as to kill only 1 person out of het millions around him, what with the wavelengths being anywhere from 1000-100,000 kilometers!!
