My strangest one was eating a bite of dolphin once. I didn't eat any, but I did see packages of tiger meat and other weird things wrapped up in the fridge of a Tai Chi master I knew. He was very renowned, but turned out to be a real jerk (I caught him touching my girlfriend's plants - no, not symbolism, actual plants - and he admitted he was trying to harm them. At least an honest jerk.) He likely thought that eating the meat gave him the strength or patience or eyesight of the tiger. It probably just gave him stripes.
