Some days I just can't read the news and keep a straight face. This stuff isn't from The Onion. Apparently this is the real deal.

Who'd of thought we'd come to the day when a state supreme court justice would be deciding what size soda you are allowed to drink?

I mean, come on. The Russians must be laughing at the pencil neck New Yorkers and their Mayor Bloomerpants.

Earlier today the coffee giant Starbucks announced they wouldn't be adhering to Mayor Bloomerpant edict that 32 ounce sodas were verboten in the Big Apple. Not even the godfathers of the five families could get a Big Gulp in Manhattan any more. Starbucks cited some kind of law that any drink that has a certain percentage of milk contained is NOT compelled to honor Mayor Blooomerpants's soda ban edict.

....THE BODY OF CHRIST COMPELS THEE....THE BODY OF CHRIST COMPELLS THEE...

As the shamans exorcise these ridiculous socialist bans. Where is it all to end?

I read where Starbucks was making a stand against Mayor Bloomerpants and I thought to myself, "This must be the beginning of the end, and they waited until the last minute to throw the proverbial monkey wrench." Being that the soda ban is supposed to take effect starting tomorrow.

...THE SUN ALSO RISES AND YOU TRY TO TELL HEMINGWAY HE CAN'T HAVE A BIG GULP......

There's an air of rebellion growing in the air, I tell ye. Even the lowly, cowering New Yorkers are beginning to bristle at this socialistic injustice.

Oh, by the way, little more than forty percent of all packages of all cigarettes sold in nearby New Jersey are sold through the black market. The state garners no taxes from those smuggled in butts. Why do I through this in? Because where would New Yorkers have to go at lunch hour to buy a black market Big Gulp? What alleyways will be reserved by the Gambino Family, as opposed to the alleyways kept by the Colombo Crime Family?

Can you get a free Big Gulp with the purchase of a black market handgun in these alleyways? Why not? I hear that New York black market gun dealers were giving away lines of coke (the kind you snort) with the purchase of a handgun. You know, competitive bidding against other black market gun dealers. An incentive to buy from No Nose Lou rather that Thick Biceps Joe.

Now a 32 ounce Big Gulp is thrown in with the deal? What was keeping Mark Kelly from purchasing his AR 15 in New York where it could all have been kept a secret?

So, you're right. I can't believe anyone is making an issue out of the legality of drinking a Big Gulp. Will Michelle Breakdance Obama fly to New York to protest this judge's ruling? Have we come to that juncture where the most heroic act of civil disobedience is buying a two liter Pepsi? How low has this once might nation sunk?

Will the case of the supersized soda reach the United States Supreme Court?

Have we laughed enough at New Yorkers and socialism in total?

Is it your right as an American citizen to take up two seats on the subway?

And they said Rome was doomed by Caligula. Well, maybe so. But I doubt Caligula and his times were filled with such wimps.

Hey, where has the Occupy Crowd been through this entire controversy?

New York Mayor Bloomberg vows to appeal ruling on sugary drinks

How sweet it is -- for those selling sugary beverages anyway.

A judge on Monday invalidated New York City's plan to ban large sugary drinks from restaurants, movie theaters and other establishments, one day before the new law was to take effect.

State Supreme Court Justice Milton Tingling in Manhattan ruled the new regulation was "arbitrary and capricious" and declared it invalid, after the American Beverage Association and other business groups had sued the city challenging the ban.

Like the vast majority of government rules and regulations, this is yet another retarded one.

Why cant someone simply buy 2 16oz sodas? Well, they can...

If this was an overturning of the NY gun laws, I'd be excited. Soda, not so much.

Its almost as though they're throwing the slaves a little bone. Go ahead and have your soda, slaves.

Guns, not so much.
