As an addeum to my post, in the event that anyone would query on the aspect of 'Korean unification', which lays in the hearts of all korean north and south, I would like to add this insight.

S.Korea as a People will want an unification, but under the present circumstances, it would be suicidal, and may they be wise to take what is the most pragmatic approach right now, without more unnecessary loss of innocent lives.

N.Korea, when its leaders loses and collapses, is NOT the Senkuku or Daiyou Islands of Japan - bone of contention between Japan and China. China had done NOTHING on and for that island for a century which they are claiming right now, which had long been protected and administered by Japan, even admitted by the late Premier of China - Deng.

N.Korea had LONG been supported by China for decades in terms of men, weapons and resources, thanks to big daddy Kim of the 50s when the late and greatest general of all time - MacArthur, drove Kim and his self servicing pigs to the Chinese border in response to irresponsible Kim's ambitious and selfish aim to rule the entire Korean landmass, not to uplift the masses, but only to uplift his name, gravitas and power.

It was big daddy kim who grovel before China's devil Mao for help to fight the free S.Koreans and american allies. And by his selfish desires, he had SOLD OUT ALL Koreans to the devil Mao and divided Korea into 2 parts.

Although Mao is dead, and the present commie leaders will disavow Maoism, as proven by the incarceration of Maoist Bo Xi Lai, due to far too many chinese whom the devil Mao's slaughter of millions is still fresh in their minds, the men and resources supplied by China to N.Korean is not WITHOUT costs for returns. Chinese NEVER does any favor without returns in mind, for they are the most pragmatic people on Earth besides Indians.

The weakness of China's CPP govt lays in its 1.3 billion people. The moment it fails to take care or account for the aspirations of its people, is the day when the CCP best take their ill begotten gains and flee to switzerland and australia to live their comfortable lives.

It was provened when its astounding GDP fell by a mere 2% over the last 2 years with the masses out in rare and no longer rare protests today to fight for their rights and aspirations. If wars were to be carried out, its GDP will collapse massively. Hunger, coupled with an interconnected world by media or more critical word of mouth, will cause the uprisings.

And if the S.Koreans foolishly think China will just step aside and let it unify freely with no costs in return, or that the S.koreans can do it alone, then the S.Koreans and some in US state dept, if not just congress, are pure fools and idiots. A nation only owns what it can defend.

To force the issue, of course the united world will win in any conflict with China, for they are only a nation of 1.3 billion and backward, as compared to the other 5.7 billion earthlings capable of being mobilized and convinced to serve our planet's adherence to rule of law, and take down any nation whom thinks itself unaccountable.

But unfortunately, many of mankind is still asleep and are not woken up, ready to support such battles, which will only result in tremedous loss of lives.

It is unnecessary. War must NEVER be considered unless all options had failed. China CCP's govt had proven that they are ready to play by the rules sharing our world, In time, as it eventually progress as it would, it will be a responsible nation, and Korean unification, if need be and not already done under economic terms when baby kim falls, will be better served. Just not today, when our World and China is not ready.

S. Korea had done well by itself as a nation for decades till today, and will do even better with current N.Korean leaders out of the picture, and, they -the attention to details and entreprenuerial S.Koreans manages the N.Korean resources.

If anyone is to be blamed for not being able to achieve reunification - Big Daddy Kim is the man to be spat upon by all current and future generations, for selling out the nation and making things difficult today for unification.

"You didn't really answer my question. Is what I asked your general thoughts on the current world?"

Current world what? Thats rather an expansive question. I suppose i would say that we are going to hell in a hand basket unless things change fast!

Why do you think that there are no terrorists or evil people? Have you been outside lately?

Clearly I was not clear (ha) in my post to you. Based on your replies on this thread it seems like you may believe that everything that happens is predetermined or controlled by TPTB. Nothing can be a random act of an evil person/terrorist/group. Anything horrible that happens coming up will be a false flag event.

Is that what you believe?

I see a lot of comments in this thread about how N. Korea should be ignored because they cant hurt anyone, or that they arent the "bad guys" and should be left alone, or that on the extreme end of things they are the ones that should feel like the victim.

I wonder how many of you are aware of the situation in North Korea? TO be sure there is suffering all over the world, but probably nowhere else where so many are subject to state-instituted torture and a hellish existence.

Do you know, for instance, that if a man so much as expresses a desire for more food, that he can be arrested, along with his entire family. The family is sent to a prison camp for the rest of their lives. The conditions these people face are probably worse than any of us can possibly imagine. Based on testimony from former in mates, we know that these people are subject to the absolute worst forms of torture, humiliation, and agony. Daily.

Official policy is for the family to never see each other again once they enter the camp. And it is probably for the best, anyway, as a man could not bear to know what his wife and daughters are enduring.

For many, life is a series of brutal 18 hour work days. Then random beatings. Cutting off of fingers for looking at someone the wrong way. Ripping off ears for not moving fast enough. Starvation such that catching a rat is a feast, and pray you arent caught because if you are then you may be shot for eating the rat. A common practice is for prisoners to kneel so that they may open their mouths to catch the spit of the guards.

For women, life is much worse. If a guard feels an urge, he takes any female he desires. In any way he desires. If she resists, she is shot immediately, In many cases, the rape is (Im sorry there is no way to put this delicately) unconventional to avoid pregnancy, such that many of the women are incontinent. If there is vaginal rape and the prisoner happens to becoem pregnant, she is usually killed. One testimony tells of a victim having become pregnant, then being tied to a tree and whipped until she died. Others, of women being force fed huge amounts of water, then laid on the floor and their stomach stepped on until the water was forced out their mouth and their anus.

Other women are given to some of the male prisoners that guards wish to reward. Not by their own choice, of course. Children born of these encounters are also kept prisoner at the camps. For life.

These are common practices and they happen every day in North Korea. Some 60,000 people, men, women, and children, are in these camps. Most of them do not even know why, since usually only the "criminal" is told what the charge is.

To those defending North Korea - please, learn the facts. Americans are arrogant, yes. We love to think of ourselves as the good guys. Sometimes we do some pretty heinous crap. But in the grand scheme of things, would ANYONE argue that we WOULDNT be the good guys for going in there and blowing the crap out of the current North Korean regime?

Predetermined? No i dont think everything that happens is predetermined. LoL

I do think there is a black nobility pulling the strings behind the scenes of our government, media and armed forces. I think "They" are very real and intent on turning the Human race into what amounts to a slave race, obligated to carry out some nafarios malevolent master plan of there design to who knows what ends.

I think "They" suppress any technology that could possibly upset there control over us, i think we have had 2 world wars because "They" initiated both, and i think "They" have another world wide conflict planed to occur in the not to distant future!

I think pritty much the worst parts for Mr Orwells 1984 are happening right now in front of our eyes and 99% of the populace is too engrossed with Dancing On Ice to even notice or care!

Now whats your take on the current geopolitical state of world affairs???

Actually NO it wouldn't! For example, the 1883 volcanic eruption of Krakatoa
had a detonation power of approximately 200 megatons (4 times the size of
the USSR's 50 Megaton Tsar Bomba Mega Nuke!) Global Temperatures dropped
an average of 1.2 Celcius (2.2 F) and the weather remained cooler but generally
stable for only about 5 years and then went back to normal.

Even a TWO TERATON (2000 Megatons!) nuclear exchange wouldn't actually
do all that much damage to the Earth. Even the radioactive fallout would have
the worst short half-life radio-nucleotides fall to safer levels within 70 years or less.
And because of global warming, the chance of nuclear winter-induced ice age would
be almost nil and the destructive explosive and radiation power would only kill about
3 to 4 billion people leaving ANOTHER 3+ BILLION people to carry the flag for humanity!

BRAVO!

Thanks for shedding light on this topic from a different perspective. Please review his posts. Deny ignorance, though it may be against one's beliefs. It stepped on some of mine, but ultimately gave me more knowledge on how the other side feels on the subject at hand.

Thanks again.

I am always worried about war games / exercises after Operation Archer in 1983 brought us close to nuclear war between US and USSR. The scary thing about this incidence is that I lived through it - and did not know it was going on.

I also know from a visit to a Cold War bunker, this was the only time that the bunker was alerted after the Cuban missile crisis - so it was serious.

The real danger on the Korean peninsula is not a nuclear confrontation, but a conventional one. North Korea is perfectly capable of decimating Seoul via conventional artillery lining the DMZ if they so desire. It would, of course, ensure a costly, bloody war that would see the end of the Northern regime. But it cannot be stressed enough that even the best case scenario projections for that conflict suggest potentially millions of deaths.

It is something I hope with all my being never happens.

Peace.

Why does the USA keep poking North Korea with a stick, because one day it will turn round & bite the USA in the ass ?

I really don't like the way the USA keeps constantly bullying places like this, especially about nuclear weapons, the USA are the only country to have used them, they cannot seem to have any restraint, if anyone country should not have nuclear weapons then it should be the USA.

Thank you for bringing that to the awareness of people here. I read a whole book in English on NK last year (in a library of South Korean Zen Buddhists). It is difficult to find a place on earth which managed to surpass all the horrors of Stalinism while remaining in complete secrecy.
Their ideology is no longer even Lenin, Stalin or Mao. Forget Mao. The trend is Yuche.
There is a giant monument dedicated to the Yuche "Philosophy" in downtown Phenyan. Yuche is only for Koreans, by Koreans, there is no longer even anything like the world revolution of Fidel Castro. In fact, this place appears to be a mix of Fascism and Stalinism in Western terms.

Their ideology is complete paranoid schizophrenia. They simply know that the whole world is out to get them. the only question is when. the thing is, it is normal from school age to get ready to die in masses for the sacred Yuche and the Kims. You should know from the Kamikaze or the suicide terrorists that it is not a matter of lighter importance when a militarised population is indoctrinated like most people in it are ready to die. It is another thing that most likely life is usually so bad in NK that ... well, the only thing that would make them forget if life is generally better and worth living.

Another thing people here treat a bit too lightly is the military superiority of the West. Well, as far as I know they did not manage to beat NK. They have been digging tunnels since the 1950's - in a very mountaneous area. I don't think anything could swiftly beat their military and their militarised population except nuking every inch of land and massacring about 50 million people - and even then some may survive in the tunnels.

People look at the maps and conclude all too easily that NK is the puppet of China. Well, why on earth China has no more puppets with conditions so horrid as here?
Why have the North Koreans ousted their own military leaders sympathising with the Maoist Chinese who won their war for them (not the aggressive one but the one of defense) - already in 1958?

Has any more news came of this yet, if this is down to NK, it could be the match that lit the wick. It could also be something less worrying, but I can't seem to find much about it.

Thanks.

I'm not a tweeter or Facebooker so I can miss some of those more interesting updates.

I wonder if this is directly related to the stress of being on the frontline during these unpredictable times, most probably just another unhappy grunt going nuts I expect.
