I get tired of telling this simple fact, but so few every get it on their own:
Nature is nature, yep, it is a dog-eat-dog world if you reduce it to that basic fact of the matterl
But all of these senseless argument avoid, ignore or remain ignorant to the other simple fact that is available to any decent, human mind. The
difference between a dog-eat-dog world and what could be is the interjection of consciousness into the equation.
Consciousness can mediate the cruel, brute forces of the natural world with compassion in all things, material and inmaterial. It is as simple as
that. However, that state is extremely difficuilt to achieve by anyone.
Materialism and egoism are the two worst hinderances in the human toward an uplifting of self to a higher plane. Even though consciousness must be
recognized as a true, inevitable naturalistic tendency toward a supreme order of being, the lure and material rewards of lessor states are strong. In
Buddhism, a bamboo stick is a corrective teaching tool. In the rest of the world, it comes in many guises. Do any of you see it? No. Probably not.
Well, wait for the whack! .
