That makes me so mad. His act was the absolute opposite of unAmerican. It was extremely American. First of all, others have fillibustered and not
gotten this much heat, which leads me to believe it is either due to who he is, or what he is standing up for. How can anyone sit there and say that
he is wrong or not patriotic because he is standing up for the CONSTITUTION. I'm so sick of people who have no regard for this document, as they are
simply ignorant for not realizing this is the most significant document, and law document, in this country.
This is the legal document that makes the US what it is, and disregard for it is what is unpatriotic and unAmerican. There is absolutely ZERO wiggle
room here. You either support the Constitution or you don't. The actions of the president show that he does not have any regard for our most
important laws. The Constitution can be altered, but there are channels that must be used, and one person cannot simply disregard the laws of this
document because they fell like it, not even the president of the US.
The quicker some of you get this through your heads, the quicker you will be on your way to becoming a true American, not just in the sense that you
live in the US, but in the sense that you support your country in the correct way. As I've said many times on ATS, agreeing with whatever the
government says or does does not make you a patriot. Standing up for the Constitution and the freedoms it provides is what makes someone patriotic.
Supporting the wars overseas does NOT make one patriotic either, despite what ignorant people like to believe.
