Hi all

sry if this has been posted I didnt see it

An undercover TSA inspector with an improvised explosive device stuffed in his pants got past two security screenings at Newark Airport including a pat down.. The TSA is doing a great job wtf? I mean how do you let a frikin bomb on board..

The “bomber” was part of the four-person “Red Team” that posed as ticketed passengers and filed through the B1 checkpoint of Terminal B home of American Airlines, JetBlue and Delta. Only one member of the TSA’s terror team was stopped at the checkpoint a female agent “carrying a simulated IED inside her carry-on that was inside a child’s doll,

I wonder if this is just another scare tactic by dhs to try and get us not to cut there funding.

An undercover TSA inspector with an improvised explosive device stuffed in his pants got past two security screenings at Newark Airport — including a pat-down — and was cleared to get on board a commercial flight, sources told The Post yesterday.

The breach took place Feb. 25, when the Transportation Security Administration’s special operations team — the agency’s version of internal affairs — staged a mock intrusion at the airport

Yup...our tax dollars going to waste on Obama's civilian army.

If they weren't so busy worrying about getting new uniforms every 6 months, and eying what personal items to steal from the sheep being herded past them...they might actually do the job they were hired for....

Time to fire them all.....

Since they are allowing knives, bats, and hockey sticks, perhaps they secretly added bombs to the list also.

Maybe the Blue Shirts are becoming a bit too much like the Brown Shirts of another time and era. I say we fire every last one of them and return to a system of private security at the airports. It had it's problems but it didn't take an Act of Congress (Almost literally) to dump a bad contract or fire a corrupt screener.

At this rate, we're just worthless servants that exist in THEIR world. Just talk back to them once, in any way and see how important your opinion is to any of them. Cattle to process....that's all we've become to some like this.

Shocking...With how intrusive some of the TSA "examinations" can be on some passengers, I find it infuriating that they fail to catch real potential threats.

It seems like all those extra thorough examinations on pretty women and abuses of power by the TSA in the name of security have been for naught.

To be honest, I see informing the public of this as a disservice in one respect; Talk about painting a target on US airlines for people looking to smuggle small explosive devices onto a plane. Grant it, TSA agents will probably step it up as a result of this report, but I could see this as giving confidence to would be terrorists looking to attacking a plane.

If the damn ACLU would just allow some good old profiling to happen we could get by on a tenth of the current security budget. Israel does research on it's travelers as well as on-site profiling of potential threats based on indicative behaviors witnessed by a highly trained specialist.

Of course if we fired 90% of the TSA the welfare numbers would jump significantly..........

Oh.

So, do you mean to tell me that groping countless children (and the elderly) isn't actually stopping dangerous items from passing through security?

I absolutely despise the TSA, if you can't tell by the above statement.

I would rather walk to my destination than allow them to lay a finger (or a scanner) on myself, or my children.

Are you suggesting ethnicity based profiling here....???

I do not know how profiling would have assisted here, the report did not go into detail on the "profile" of the individual, so what would that matter?

Profiling can lead to inefficiencies.

They are more worried about feeling up kid's, and peoples wives... Some of them think their police officers the power gets to their head.. They ruff up your grandma in a wheel chair, steal peoples ipads, laptops, a bomb they could care less, they are not on the plane.. In Russia there was a terrorist who walked into the terminal of the airport with an IED really messed up the scheduling.. I would like to see them stop this, they are morons..

I agree, Wrabbit. Fire them all. Turn it over to private enterprise. The way it stands now, IF any of them are brought under scrutiny for misdeeds, it's a gentle slap on the wrist. Then, they are sometimes moved to a different location to carry on.

When did their jobs get tenure status.....

Not racial profiling. Behavior profiling. Of course one would look at dark haired, turban wearing people of Middle Eastern descent perhaps a bit harder than a white grandma from the USA. It is the nature of the beast.

How awesome that they are giving terrorists ideas on what to do and how to get past these check points which are already a joke. High five and a nice face palm!

Bet now they are going to get even dumber at these check points in the name of security. You have a better chance of getting struck by lighting or bitten by a shark then getting on a plane with terrorist.

I don't know..... Was it when they got their collective bargaining rights or before that....perhaps when they were given the 'technical' authority of a Police Officer with none of the screening, training or ongoing accountability even a street cop is subjected to.

All the power trip, none of the headache. Must be a nice gig there.

Again?

They're there to molest kindergarteners and embarrass seniors. Not to catch terrorists.

Hijackings/bombs are crazy rare. Even before 9/11 they were astronomically rare.

If we attribute the same rate of success to the TSA that we attribute to the ATF or the DEA or your local PD then really, what the hell is the point of all these "agents" and all this money and all this unbelievable harassment all to stop an irrelevant fraction of attempts to commit an act that is as rare as unicorns to begin with?

The most expensive pacifier for a population of idiot paranoids ever.

This is so typical of Government agencies. They pass out power like M&Ms, with no structure in place for accountability and consequences. Then it just grows like a cancer, out of control, until we have a Gestapo running our travel industry.

I quit flying because of the TSA. It will take an extreme emergency for me to get on a plane again. The last time I flew, to my Daughter's wedding in Ca., it took longer to get through the TSA line, than it did to collect my luggage, and rent a car...combined.

How do these things happen???
Because the TSA is staffed by a bunch of morons, run by a bigger bunch of morons.

How does anyone expect any Govt agency to actually do good work?

I'd settle for people with badges to go through a basic level of screening and training. The TSA are glorified warehouse security guards in both pre-hire requirements and rudimentary training.

They don't even need their own facilities. Just travel and temporary housing. We could save money and bounce them through FBI and Police training at different places. All law enforcement training gives MORE than mere TSA goons require but each gives quite a bit in other areas they NEED. As I understand it, FBI Agent training has some pretty heavy Constitutional focus to it...I.E., how not to be violating it while enforcing it ... Things the TSA could stand to learn.

Before they get to that gun and physical training I'd prefer they not get (
), they can go get bounced to LAPD Academy or one of the other big formal ones where they teach by the book..and let them get a few weeks of that.

THEN... Call them something worth wearing a badge and feeling people up.. maybe. That ought to be min. for their airport screeners.

The airport run screeners were 100 times better then these idiots.

The TSA is the biggest waste of tax money for any Govt Agency that has ever come to us.
