Incidentally, if you read back through the thread you will see that some people have indeed grasped the point.

LOL! What? That you don't believe that a Christian is indeed a Christian if they don't support the exact same ideas and ways in which you believe they should be done?

Budski, the fact that you are so evasive in answering questions tells me that you might have been hitting "C" up for money and he didn't want to help you because you spend it in bars. You certainly haven't given us enough information to tell us any different.

The problem with socialism and communism not fitting in with Christian beliefs is that these are rooted in Atheism #1.. and #2 Christians can better handle their own money and distribute it directly to those charities and poor who are in need... rather than having the gov confiscate it and redistribute it to themselves while the rest suffer. Really, who can honestly say here that the Government is good at handling money? LOL

If a social system is not a theocracy it's automatically based on atheism? Is democracy sinful? How about capitalism? Was it atheism that provided the Roman's republic slaves and plebs with free bread and circuses?

Thank you for that quote. I needed to see that it was present in the bible also.

If all Christians where like you then I would not mind being Christian. Thank you for being. It would not be the same without you here.

I'm not sure if it was Marx who thought that religion was a threat to the state in his version of a communist state, so he has a point, even if it's a slightly skewed one, because that would then be marxism rather than communism.

But thinking about what he has said brings another point and another question, which is: Is all religion doomed to failure because man will always subvert it for his own ends?

Jesus would be a communist or at the very least, a socialist, if he were alive today.

It's funny how the media has conditioned people to think that socialism and looking after your fellow man is a bad thing, and that so many who agree with this are christians, when actually Jesus said the complete opposite.

I disagree. Jesus would want the poeple to help each other voluntarily. not by being forced or have a govt shove the programs down the throat of the populace. The point isnt to feed the poor, but rather to show gods love. By loving people the way Jesus/God loves you. God will not let you starve so you should not let others starve...

God gave us free will.... He wants us TO CHOOSE HIM he wants us to love like he does by CHOICE.

I think it's pretty safe to say that ANY system that's corrupt is without God, including democracy if it's not living up to what it was meant to be.

Right. Jesus said that his kingdom is not of this earth. We don't live in a theocracy.

God does indeed allow people to starve.

God gave us free will.... He wants us TO CHOOSE HIM he wants us to love like he does by CHOICE.

Then, he would want us to feed the poor, and would be pleased if his followers chose and supported a governing system that made sure that no one starved or had to go without decent medical care because they were too poor. Jesus also "healed" the sick, freely, as well as feeding the masses.

And yet history proves that every theocracy also was corrupted. The Hebrews, The Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Akkadians, The Vatican and her Church, The Church of England, Asian emperors, etc.

Hello! You're finally starting to catch on. Now apply that line of thought with government too and you have the full picture.

Your buddy, "C", wouldn't happen to despise the UK's welfare program due to this, would he?

The Sun interviewed Natalija Belova, a 33-year-old Lithuanian who has come to love the British welfare system:

A MIGRANT mum thanked the UK yesterday for letting her claim £14,500 a year in benefits.

Natalija Belova, 33, told The Sun how she spurns full-time work — yet can afford foreign holidays and buys designer clothes.

The Lithuanian said: “British benefits give me and my daughter a good life.”

She has milked soft-touch Britain for £50,000 in benefits and yesterday said: “I simply take what is given to me.”

Overjoyed Natalija told how she lives a life of luxury thanks to our “strange” system, declaring: “It’s important to have nice things and good holidays.”

At one point Ms. Belova had a job, but she came to see that as foolish:

Ms. Belova could find work if she wanted to, but it isn’t worth her while. She is too well-educated, she thinks, to accept a low-paying job:

Occasionally, Natalija Belova needs to rest from her labors:

Natalija, who has three credit cards and loves to go on sprees at designer clothes stores, crowed: “After our holiday to Malaga, we went to Lithuania over Christmas and spent £1,000.”

Thank you.

Finally we are getting somewhere.

Now, if we apply what you say to any democracy or theocracy or any other "ocracy" what do you think the end result would be?

A serious question, I am not being facetious or sarcastic.

Quoting the s*n?
Seriously, you are quoting from what is little more than a comic?

They pay actors to pose for photographs and make up stories like this every single week without fail.
They are rupert murdochs UK flagship for the terminally stupid.

And you're quoting them?
LMAO.

Next you're going to tell me that the UK doesn't have a welfare problem.

Do some research.

I agree that some Christians twist things to make them feel better about themselves, but have you done the same?

You have taken one conversation and used it to build yourself a superior position. You laid out scripture that you want him to take literally, but do you take them literally, and if you don't then do you have a position to accuse him of being a hypocrite. If you do are you living by these words perfectly, to be able to judge others who are not.

You are convinced that you are a guide for the blind and a light for people who are lost in darkness. You think you can instruct the ignorant and teach children the ways of God. For you are certain that God’s law gives you complete knowledge and truth. Well then, if you teach others, why don’t you teach yourself? You tell others not to steal, but do you steal? You say it is wrong to commit adultery, but do you commit adultery? You condemn idolatry, but do you use items stolen from pagan temples? You are so proud of knowing the law, but you dishonor God by breaking it. No wonder the Scriptures say, “The Gentiles blaspheme the name of God because of you.” (Romans 2:19-24 NLT)

Again, at no point have I stated that I am a christian, only that I was born into the RCC whose values I rejected.

I live my own life by a simple set of rules, and I abide by them, but I don't see myself as being morally superior, only that I am not a hypocrite because I stick to the rules and values I have chosen to live by.

Really? Because in another thread you said you were a Christian who just didn't care for the way the church was run. Have you changed your views on God or just the church?

Ok, so stick to your rules and let others stick to there's.

It's sure convenient to make up your own rules, because you can justify everything and never be a hypocrite, that's like never looking in a mirror and thinking that your an image of perfection.

Most of the time when pointing fingers, there are three others pointing back.

Your insecurities about your customized belief system show through, as you need to not pick others to improve your position. Lets hear your rules and see the fruit of your labor, what are you doing daily to keep your rules.

Some people do not stick to their own rules.

You seem more intent on attacking the content of the thread than you are in discussing the premise.

I wonder why...

What premise was that again? You never made that fully clear since you started your thread off talking about "political affiliations" combined with Christianity and then you just went on a Christian bashing rant.
