The problem with socialism and communism not fitting in with Christian beliefs is that these are rooted in Atheism #1.. and #2 Christians can better handle their own money and distribute it directly to those charities and poor who are in need... rather than having the gov confiscate it and redistribute it to themselves while the rest suffer. Really, who can honestly say here that the Government is good at handling money? LOL

This is why it is said, in 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 -
21 Test everything. Hold on to the good. 22 Avoid every kind of evil.

If a social system is not a theocracy it's automatically based on atheism? Is democracy sinful? How about capitalism? Was it atheism that provided the Roman's republic slaves and plebs with free bread and circuses?
Jesus would be a communist or at the very least, a socialist, if he were alive today.
It's funny how the media has conditioned people to think that socialism and looking after your fellow man is a bad thing, and that so many who agree with this are christians, when actually Jesus said the complete opposite.
Jesus would want the poeple to help each other voluntarily. not by being forced or have a govt shove the programs down the throat of the populace.
The point isnt to feed the poor, but rather to show gods love. By loving people the way Jesus/God loves you. God will not let you starve so you should not let others starve...
God gave us free will.... He wants us TO CHOOSE HIM he wants us to love like he does by CHOICE.
But thinking about what he has said brings another point and another question, which is: Is all religion doomed to failure because man will always subvert it for his own ends?
The Sun interviewed Natalija Belova, a 33-year-old Lithuanian who has come to love the British welfare system:
A MIGRANT mum thanked the UK yesterday for letting her claim £14,500 a year in benefits.
Natalija Belova, 33, told The Sun how she spurns full-time work — yet can afford foreign holidays and buys designer clothes.
The Lithuanian said: “British benefits give me and my daughter a good life.”
She has milked soft-touch Britain for £50,000 in benefits and yesterday said: “I simply take what is given to me.”
Overjoyed Natalija told how she lives a life of luxury thanks to our “strange” system, declaring: “It’s important to have nice things and good holidays.”
At one point Ms. Belova had a job, but she came to see that as foolish:
Ms. Belova could find work if she wanted to, but it isn’t worth her while. She is too well-educated, she thinks, to accept a low-paying job:
Occasionally, Natalija Belova needs to rest from her labors:
Natalija, who has three credit cards and loves to go on sprees at designer clothes stores, crowed: “After our holiday to Malaga, we went to Lithuania over Christmas and spent £1,000.”

Right. Jesus said that his kingdom is not of this earth. We don't live in a theocracy.

God does indeed allow people to starve.
God gave us free will.... He wants us TO CHOOSE HIM he wants us to love like he does by CHOICE.
Then, he would want us to feed the poor, and would be pleased if his followers chose and supported a governing system that made sure that no one starved or had to go without decent medical care because they were too poor. Jesus also "healed" the sick, freely, as well as feeding the masses.
You are convinced that you are a guide for the blind and a light for people who are lost in darkness. You think you can instruct the ignorant and teach children the ways of God. For you are certain that God’s law gives you complete knowledge and truth. Well then, if you teach others, why don’t you teach yourself? You tell others not to steal, but do you steal? You say it is wrong to commit adultery, but do you commit adultery? You condemn idolatry, but do you use items stolen from pagan temples? You are so proud of knowing the law, but you dishonor God by breaking it. No wonder the Scriptures say, “The Gentiles blaspheme the name of God because of you.” (Romans 2:19-24 NLT)
Again, at no point have I stated that I am a christian, only that I was born into the RCC whose values I rejected.
