Anger management for purchasing bullets? huh?

Well according to Audrey Gibson, while you're waiting 3 days to purchase your ammo, you would be required to take an anger management course. She thinks people who stock up on ammo are going to go out and commit mass murders. She wonders why we wish to purchase ammo (insert list of reasons here), but she thinks it's safer if we don't stockpile on ammo.

Would-be ammunition buyers might have to complete anger-management class before making their purchase, if one Florida politico has her way.

Democratic Sen. Audrey Gibson has brought forth a bill that mandates a three-day waiting period for ammunition purchases, Fox News reports. And during that waiting period, buyers would have to prove they’ve completed an anger-management program — and if they can’t, they have to take one as a condition of purchase.

Her idea is also to mandate ammunition buyers retake the course every 10 years, Fox News says.

“This is not about guns,” Ms. Gibson said, in the Fox News report. “This is about ammunition and not only for the safety of the general community, but also for the safety of law enforcement.”

Ms. Gibson’s biggest concern: Gun owners who are stockpiling ammunition.

“It’s about getting people to think, really, about how much ammunition they need,” she said, in Fox News’ report. “It’s a step, I think, in a safer direction. It’s about getting people to think before they buy.”

So remember, if you are stockpiling ammo for whatever reason, you are a concern to others.

“This is not about guns”

Of course not. What would ever give me that idea?

“It’s about getting people to think, really, about how much ammunition they need”

Ok. I've thought about it. Evidently I need a hell of a lot more than what I have.

And they think we need anger management, and psychological help?

Yeah, good point. I'd like to see obummer and eric holders proof of completion.

I live in FL, and hopefully this bill will die before it gains much attention. If they can't ban the guns, they will limit the ammo supply, and it seems the plan is working. Now would be the time for people to do reloading on the side, you could probably make a good amount of cash through this year.

See, that's the problem there. It's a case by case basis. People stockpile on ammo for various reasons, such as, To keep from being victim of an ammo shortage (like now?), Having enough bullets to practice with, and to have for hunting (if that's your fancy), and ammo is kind of like a form of insurance.. a form of insurance I wouldn't mind investing in

Florid has some of the best gun laws.

This is a nothingburger from an attention seeking Dem looking for her 15 minutes of fame.

It will go nowhere, just like her.

I read this the other day. Amazing people in Congress wasting taxpayer money on this drivel.
People need to pay attention more as to what and how the Congress people are voting.I hope they vote her out next election.

I'm put in mind of a job I had years ago. They hired a new manager in my department--the usual idiot. When I argued with her she wrote me up for an "attitude problem." When the big boss called me in to talk about it, I told him: "Boss--I've worked here for 15 years. In all that time, have you ever known me to have an attitude problem?"

Just sayin': What kind of idiocy could we possibly have to be angry about, Senator?

So once you take the class does it put you in a box that says you have psycoligical issues because you took the class therefore you can't buy a gun?? The next law will be anyone who has taken an anger management class can't carry or buy??

I propose a bill requiring eggheaded politicians to see counselors before introducing—but after writing, perhaps—bills.

They might just realize that their reasoning behind said bills is not grounded in "reality."

That said, this is getting out of hand. To assume that everyone wanting ammo has an anger issue is just ridiculous. While such a "law" might prevent one in 300 million "spontaneous" shootings (mass or not), to require everyone to do it is insane.

I hope this applies to politicians and other officials too. And police officers. And he local National Guard.

Equal under the law, and see how far this goes.

Idiots.

I suppose the mental health industry needs to feed it's members too. I see a good reason for this, but it has nothing to do with bullets or guns.

I see what she is trying to accomplish, the gist of it is that forcing people to take anger management classes prior to purchasing ammunition may reduce the occurrence of poorly thought out slayings as a result of rage. Good intentions, terrible implementation.

So I'm happily anticipating this years IDPA, 3-gun, etc.. seasons and head over the gun shop to grab 1000 .223's, 2000 9mm and a few cases of buckshot, birdshot and slugs. Assuming for a minute that I can actually find any ammo.

Then some bureaucrat stops me and says "you need to attend anger management classes."

Suddenly I find myself very, very angry.

Was I angry before attempting to buy for the upcoming season I love so much or did something completely unrelated to the sport pop up and make me angry?

So whoever is backing this load of BS is apparently operating on the assumption that anyone and everyone who buys ammo is pissed off?

Loonies out there in these offices. Complete loonies.

Well I am native Floridian and just sent her an email. I basically stated that if she believed legal gun owners should take an anger management course before purchasing ammo she should also sponsor a bill that requires politicians to take multiple ethics courses during their career. I told her that since she is a politician the chance of her involving herself in some kind of corruption is probably significantly higher than if she was not. At least higher then the chance of a law abiding citizen using their ammo for nefarious reasons.

What a disgrace she is....

Really?

Considering the sheer amount of Ammo DHS has been stockpiling wonder if she thinks the government needs to go to "anger management" classes.

Those law makers would really freaking out if they went to youtube and searched for SHTF ammo.

asking her about DHS purchasing all of those bullets would be an inconvenient truth, and it wouldn't help her push this non sense. I love FL gun laws, I'm a native to the state, but that kind of control mentality is unnerving to say the least.

Notice how it's mostly Democrats involved in telling us what we should and should not do with our right to bear arms? This is because it has been a long time Democrat aim to disarm the public to prepare for the Socialist Utopia which in their minds will not require guns to protect ourselves.

Also, since their Agenda 21 program is intended to control all the food distribution, they figure we won't need guns for hunting. Nanny Statism at their best.

She must be a great time at parties. I don't have a serious response because it just isn't worth responding to.

That being said, the Washington Times statement conflicts with Sen. Buzzkills text in the bill.

Times said

Democratic Sen. Audrey Gibson has brought forth a bill that mandates a three-day waiting period for ammunition purchases, Fox News reports. And during that waiting period, buyers would have to prove they’ve completed an anger-management program — and if they can’t, they have to take one as a condition of purchase.

Her bill, here, says no ammo purchases until you take an anger management class. No mention of a waiting period for ammo.

Did the Times spend 0 minutes in research or has the text of her bill been modified?
