For some reason, I just don't see this happening.

If anything, it will backfire on those who attend.

What confused me as to the tea-party movement and the occupy moment is the central message. What was the one demand that either of these groups carried? I absolutely support any efforts of any american that stands up for change. What is disconcerting for me is how convoluted the messages are. It all seemed so chaotic.

Originally, the Tea Party platform was very simple and should have had the support of people from all over the political spectrum.

1. Identify constitutionality of every new law
2. Reject emissions trading
3. Demand a balanced federal budget
4. Simplify the tax system
5. Audit federal government agencies for constitutionality
6. Limit annual growth in federal spending
7. Repeal the health care legislation passed on March 23, 2010
8. Pass an "all-of-the-above" energy policy
9. Reduce earmarks
10. Reduce taxes
link

The current Tea Party platform is slightly different.

1) Repeal Obamacare; Pursue Patient-Centered Care
2) Stop the Tax Hikes
3) Reverse Obama’s Spending Increases
4) Scrap the Code; Replace It with a Flat Tax
5) Pass a Balanced Budget Amendment
6) Reject Cap and Trade
7) Rein in the EPA
8) Unleash America’s Vast Energy Potential
9) Eliminate the Department of Education
10) Reduce the Bloated Federal Workforce
11) Curtail Excessive Federal Regulation
12) Audit the Fed
link

The TP focuses on DC and our government while OWS focused on "Wall Street" and the "1%". The Occupy movement was completely unorganized and seemed more like a free-for-all for everyone who was angry about something or wanted handouts. OWS never had leadership nor a clear message shared by all IMO. TP was and is all about reining in DC.

And those demands keep us divided. Not all Americans agree on all of those demands. Keeping it simple and demanding one thing at a time is hard to ignore and MSM would have a harder time distorting the message.

I think the trick would be to find that one demand that by default would remedy several grievances. It's obvious to me that as a nation we have the where with all to organize, we however lack what ever is needed to deliver a message. We continue to be ignored.

Perhaps you can tell us WHY it is so "ridiculous"? What about this is ridiculous?

Fact is our Government IS treasonous and no long represents the people or upholds the Constitution. That is a fact that only a blind fool would deny.

So what exactly is "ridiculous"?

Personally, I do not think this idea is ridiculous, but I highly doubt that there will by any support from local law enforcement. The laws favor our Politicians not the people. Our lawmakers saw to that.

First, I hope this goes well for those involved, but it will need far more than a mere 40,000 plus people to make it happen. It will require the majority of the population, of every state, town, county, island, and any other collective of people, to be in the capital, choking the streets to the point that no bus full of thugs can get between the crowd and the target.

Second, it will require the co-operation of not just a few sherrifs, but many of them, from all over your united states. There will have to be refreshments too! So not just law enforcement officials but food and drink vendors as well.

And third... There are great reasons for this to go ahead, and if enough people get to hear about it, and have the money to show up, can afford to take the time off work (or face loosing thier jobs for being a no show) to show up, dont have a large group of kids to manage and can therefore show up, then everything ought to go swimmingly.

But... if it looks like being a success, then those who are there should be very careful, alert, and be streaming direct from thier cameras to the web, so that any provocation by the security teams that will immediately ring the White House when these numbers show up, will be caught on camera doing whatever they do. They should also accept that some of them may die in the attempt (this situation could provoke a serious response from the Secret Service and other agencies protecting the President), that there is the potential for a massacre.

Put plainly, this will not happen, I believe, without massive loss of life, unless the President gives himself and congress up for some reason. If he, Obama, is as bad as folk think, then he wouldnt think twice before ordering the Secret Service bods to protect him from "kidnapping" at all costs, meaning the lives of every man woman and child who tries to put the bracelets on him.

Also, while we are at it, the fellow will just escape in a chopper, which will come back time and again for the other people that this movement wants to arrest. Unless the streets are so clogged with people, that the bullets fired by the Presidential protection detail (who swore no oath to protect the people, just the president) cannot make a dent in the horde, and unless that horde manages to overcome the fence around the White House lawn, and rush the grounds, preventing helicopter access, then this is doomed. I mean if ANY street, avenue, alley, basement access, or road is clear, then the President will use some system of tunnels or other to escape the White House, pop up in a street someplace and await evacuation elsewhere.

This would have to be planned like a military operation, and I see no evidence of that, just a damp suggestion of something to do on a sunny afternoon. Not to say its not a good idea, but my god, needs some nuts.

All this retoric is fine and good.

The main question I have for those who are so quick to do this now.

Where were you and what was you opinion of the leadership of this country nine or ten years ago?

Of course you don't have to answer my questions here.

Your answer to this question may tell us more about you and your motives than you would care for us to know.

Just a question, while we are about this discussion... Without reverting to responses like "Anyone but them, anyone but that", who are the people organising this effort thinking of replacing Obama and Friends with exactly?

Honestly, I dont see how anything in the US is going to change without...

www.youtube.com...

Mind you, I reckon my own country could use some of that as well!

Now how they planning on doing this?
Formal charge all they want to, but truth is they will all probably get arrested themselves, long before they show up at the capitol... Who knows, maybe they'll all get taken out by drone strikes, as domestic terrorists- long before they reach the capitol...

No. This group is no better than Obama. We the People is just another tool from the NWO to gather up all civilians and introduce the One government. Marxists at its perfection. Throughout history Marxism (and its predecessor) was behind French Revolution, Russian revolution (Karl Marx: Proletarier aller Länder vereinigt Euch!, literally "Proletarians of all countries, unite!") where the people were brainwashed to revolutionize and became slave to the new order, the Communist or Socialist order.

It is not a matter of who is in office. I think the message should be that we are in control of this country, not the politicians, not the corporations or any other entity that plans on usurping our rights and progress as a country for higher profits.

This very silly two party system needs to go. The corporate dollars need to go. Corporations could care less about the politics, they are more interested in keeping us busy fighting with one another, so we won't notice how we are being robbed and subjugated.

Well that isnt very realistic.

If you are arresting the entire upper tier of government, then you WILL have to install something in its place, because clearly, the President, the VP, and congress will not be able to perform thier duties while under arrest. So I ask again, what sits in its place? Its all very well saying that this isnt about replacing your leaders, but at the same time, you cannot unseat them into a cell, and expect things to just , work themselves out.

If that is the route down which you are intending to go with this, I must question the sense in it.

Incidentally I couldnt agree with your principle more. I applaud it. But this has to be done properly.

It is not a route that I would take, besides in my mind many of those that will participate also understand that the problem that you have posed is indeed a problem. I believe at this point it is a statement of "we see the corruption". It is a move in the right direction. Folks getting together and organizing, and learning to speak as a single voice is a very good thing....practice makes perfect.

Can you imagine a gun march?!! Have the Occupy Wall street people show up with guns and see what happens!

What would be very beneficial to this movement, would be if higher-ups in the military or Pentagon recognize the authority of the people(as in a government for and by the people) and backed them up. Other ranking members of other government agencies should also recognize this as a way out of the hole they have been placed in.

Except that they need evidence to arrest someone - arresting someone because some random on the internet does not like them is not really a reason to arrest anyone.... despite what you think!

But this is beyond some random on the internet, its everywhere you look. You want evidence, just turn on the news and listen/watch. MSM, or non MSM. The writing is on the wall, but it seems you're illiterate, or just don't want to see it.

By the way OP, you should change your call sign/user name here on ATS, it doesn't suit you very well. No true American I know fully gives up hope for a better tomorrow in this country. Right now we need high morale, and your statements clearly do not set an example for a true American. Just my humble two cents.

So you are one of those.... "I saw it on tv/internet so it must be true"....

Which is why there will be no mass arrest of Congress, Pres, VP and SCOTUS etc.
