Highly improbable.

1) ATS is not on the ADL list of groups or sites.

2) The story is exaggerated and the actual recommended targets are hate and extremist groups that have been linked to violence or promotion of violence.

Apropos my earlier post (too late to edit) please click here:

Scumstein's operative term is ‘cognitive infiltration’ with especial emphasis on 9/11 conspiracy groups - a despicable phrase.

Well now I understand why I was having problems viewing this site yesterday. Man this is scary, other sites are still down. Just did a google search for some and tried to load them only to get Error 504 Gateway Timeout on two of them. This is the same error I got once or twice last night for this site.

Something is definitely going on and to write this off as some random coincidence is to fool yourself. Is this the beginning of the endgame?

2) The Feds wanting it to look like China.

GLP Mods know who is doing it. The attackers have even threatened violence against the mods at GLP. GLP mods have contacted the FBI regarding the attacks already. The attackers are known Rory and Igor if I remember right. The mods here might want to contact the GLP site owner (Trin) for more details.

You really think ANYONE here gives a flip about GLP or that narcissistic buffoon who runs that circus? The more I read about that site being harassed the more I laugh hysterically. How are those ISP bans working for you now Trin?

Just passing on information. ATS can do what they choose to with it. And since ATS is probably being attacked by the same people that are attacking GLP I'm betting some people here do care what is happening to them.

As pertains to the thread and its title I think it would be a good idea to peruse this website - SPLC , and to do some thorough research on them before going any further as regards the title of this thread and its sinister implications for us all.

Mark Potok is the master propagandist who presides over the SPLC, and is on a par only with the master dis-information specialist, par-excellence, Abe Foxman of the ADL.

SPLC, and other socially disruptive entities such as the ADL, and AIPAC are behind just about all of the dis-information being spread about American citizens interested in upholding the Constitution - by way of propaganda, and they are the opposite of what they espouse themselves to be - they are actually the major purveyors of much of the hatred and violence being spread throughout America. They are expert at blaming us - the average Americans who are law abiding citizens - for what they themselves are causing - dissension, general social upheaval, and most especially - racial division in America.

We're not on the SPLC watchlist. There is one mention of ATS on the SPLC site, and that's actually a "no, they're not full of whacko nutjobs" mention in the comments on one blog.

Interesting read from Harvard...

Last paragraph:

Some conspiracy theories create serious risks. They do not merely undermine democratic debate; in extreme cases, they create or fuel violence. If government can dispel such theories, it should do so. One problem is that its efforts might be counterproductive, because efforts to rebut conspiracy theories also legitimate them. We have suggested, however, that government can minimize this effect by rebutting more rather than fewer theories, by enlisting independent groups to supply rebuttals, and by cognitive infiltration designed to break up the crippled epistemology of conspiracy- minded groups and informationally isolated social networks.

When I first read this thread, I laughed, and had an ugly image of zits popping all over PC screens.
People having spasms, "what am I going to do? What am I going to do?"..."My God, my God, my God, what are my going to do?".
Looking out the window at the sky and checking the TV to see if everything in dodge was OK.
I guess once it didn't take longer than 20 minutes to load, people stopped biting their toe nails in a mad frenzy.

Was a funny thought.

Have fun ladies....

SPLC is a hate filled website in itself.....and seeing how there are a few threads about SPLC at the moment (which has justifiable criticism of those so called experts) perhaps ATS is on "a list." I would almost bet SPLC criteria of whacko nutjobs relate to the number of Obama / socialist membership of a website.

ATS was down long enough for a server to reboot. While I don't want to provoke anyone, that doesn't really count as being DDoSed into oblivion.

If it were the case that the perpetrators were known and reported to the FBI then how come the attacks are still going on almost one week later?

This is a sustained and planned operation. Whoever's behind it doesn't seem to be giving up anytime soon and the longer it rolls on the more interesting it becomes. Why is everyone still none the wiser about who they are? How come we haven't heard a 'mission statement' from the culprits? That's what normally happens - the attackers feel the need to broadcast an explanation somewhere on the internet (if only to gloat).

Amkon is gone, maybe for good - their web hosting company has suspended their account for 30 days and perhaps the same thing has happened to some of the other smaller websites. It's hard to see how they'd recover from this.

Even if it is some goon monkeying about in his bedroom that's responsible it's still a real eye-opener. If this is what an amateur can do without being detected and/or stopped then imagine what our respective governments could do. Why isn't this a bigger issue?

The .gov can stop requests on the network itself if it wants to - they don't need to take down sites.

Yes, I agree that it is a real eye-opener and why are our online freedoms so easy to take away? It's odd though, why the perpetrator(s) isn't/aren't coming forward with the why of it all, or did he/they already give us a heads up on some forum post. Were there any warnings?
