Well the majority of America says otherwise.

That garbage agian?

Fact is the majority of Americans don't say otherwise who is "saying otherwise" is a left wing media outlet sampling its viewers.

Fact out of 330 million Americans in this country less than half even votes.

Maybe you should cool off a bit, and really go over how you all act with an open mind.

Don't take well being told what to do must have mistaken me for the republican opposites they are the ones who go around saying how open minded they are.

The extremity does not really lie with your guys' views on issues. It's how you act.

That is rich more like pot calling the kettle there.

It's one thing to respectfully think the sanctity of marriage belongs to a man and his wife

Contrary to some dogma most righties don't care.

It's another to shout that all homosexuals are going to hell.

oh really?

Anyone who doesn't beleive in the nanny state and the rich and corporations are evil is going to hell.

It's one thing to be pro-gun.

Funny being pro gun is what they use to call liberal hiding behind government is not liberal.

It's another to practically worship guns, call anyone who even suggests we could improve gun safety a communist fascist.

So what people don't have a problem with the worship of the nanny state or government.

It's one thing to have a laissez-faire attitude towards the economy. It's another to call anyone who suggests we need to regulate corporations a little bit, and maybe raise their taxes(instead of PAYING them), a socialist LIBTARD.

So how is all that regulation worked out??

Name calling please i have heard republicans called things much worse.

It's not Republicans views that are the problem. It's how they act. Anyone who has views different from them is an evil enemy. Anyone who disagrees with you hates freedom.

Oh its "how republicans act " eh totally priceless!!

Really the pot calling the kettle there.

They blame others. They act like the survey can't be trusted. They refuse to acknowledge it.

Too funny.

So...Which one are you?

People reason chiefly to persuade others that they are right, not to find out what is true.

Where are they getting "extreme" from other than a left wing "news organization" ?

Everyone in the country except you agrees that the GOP has gone to the extreme right.

They proposed something like 900 bills around the country in the last few years against abortion, family planning and even birth control.

They vote against equal pay for women, took Thomas Jefferson out of the Texas history books, and support torture and endless war and you wonder how they're extreme?

The sad part is you actually believe your own false narrative. For example, Jefferson wasn't removed from text books. he was taken off a list of writers who inspired revolutions in text books. Huge difference.

It's clear that the GOP has gone bat# crazy right wing. It's not really arguable.

If you insist otherwise, I would suggest you seek mental help.

My biggest issue with the Republican party is how they can never seem to keep the Christian religion out of their politics. Governments are supposed to work for the people by defending them and maintaining order, not forcing a religion upon the people.

Sort of like how Hollywood just cannot have movies without sex, death, and violence???? hmmmm?

Even Hillary won't use the word "liberal" anymore, as she has now declared herself a Progressive.

Both parties don't represent the people anymore. Both parties dig there heels in more and more and strong arm the American people in their name.

I think that's a false equivalency Dems are more likely to give or move closer to the Reps side than the other way around, remember a year and change ago when John Boehner bragged he got 98% of what he asked for but that still didn't move him or his party to meet the President half way on other issues,it's always filibuster filibuster filibuster rant and more filibuster, I gave up on the Dems because they are weak kneed and don't push back unless there is a general election.

Not that I disagree with you here but I bet it's for different reasons. Can you list the regulations that are in your opinion, helping destroy the economy?

Look at how they respond. They blame others. They act like the survey can't be trusted. They refuse to acknowledge it.

Oh do you mean like for the last 12 years the last potus is to blame and the how the current right wingers in the House are to blame?

Haven't seen their opposites own up to anything.
edit on 5-3-2013 by neo96 because: (no reason given)

The emphasis was on "They refuse to acknowledge [they are too extreme].
Again, you're still skirting the issue, and that was my whole point. As soon as any criticism is directed at the GOP, they refuse to acknowledge it, and immediately start pointing the finger at others.

You did exactly what I said was the problem with you guys!

Shrug, and the Democrats do the exact same thing, so I don't see your point. Let's look at sequestration: blaming the Republicans for an idea that the administration came up with.

If not taking responsability is your dfinition of extremism, the Democratic party is very much extremist.

You can paint it any way you want, but the public perception is what it is. That's why Obama is still President and that's why the GOP lost seats. Nobody is saying there are not liberals that are too extreme, because there are.

The bottom line is that the GOP is way too extreme in just about every social issue you can bring up right now. As long as they remain that way, they will continue to lose seats in Congress. A recent Onion satire piece sums up the 2012 Presidential election perfectly with this headline: Romney Blames Loss On Successfully Communicating His Message To Minorities.

If your campaign strategy is limited to only appeasing your base (who will vote for you regardless) with little regard for trying to get any other votes, you will lose. I don't care if you are a Republican or Democrat candidate, you will lose every time.

Watch what happens in the 2014 mid-terms if they don't change on social issues!
