Is bin laden tape authentic?

I have the usual questions.
Having studied how accurate complete
video fabrications can be, especially with
the computing resources of for example
the NSA making it, I always question
these kind of tapes that appear with
such coincidental timing.

So..

1. How was the tape received?
2. What was the original format? ( PAL, VHS, other)
3. What organization authenticated the tape?
4. Was the original physical tape authenticated,
or a copy?
5. Who translated it?
6. Is the translation accurate?
7. Exactly how was the tape "authenticated"?
(Only the original physical copy could allow true
authentication that it was analog recorded, and
not digitally fabricated then made into an analog
recording).
8. What brand machine was it recorded on ?(different
machines leave various artifacts that can be analyzed)
9. What was the second unbiased organization to verify
the results of the first analysis? (Was there one? Was the
original analysis done by an unbiased party?)
10. Why is none of the above information readily
available, if it is a legitimate tape?

I have more questions, but you get the idea. These are all
questions that need to be answered before ANY talk about
the contents of the tape can be rationally discussed, because
false tapes have been made before (that we know about and
confirmed by "authority" in this country.. although responsibility
for them has never been proven).

Here is a bigger question. Why does anyone who has
been following the lies of the Bush administration
continue to believe "anything" coming out of it?

all you need in response to every single one of those questions is one answer...it was al-jazeera that recieved, played, and dictated the circumstances of the tape. al-jazeera is not working for the u.s. so don't try to think we made them play the tape either.

I too am having some questions about this. But More with the Adam the American one.

To the Best of my knowledge and research,

1. It was first received by the US government in Qatar, then one was received by Al-Jazeera,

2. DAT, again not certain

3. This has been flip-flopping in my opinion. They say its Authentic, but can not Authenticate it

4. Dont Know, I personally would assume there are two different ones.

5. I have seen 4 different translations, One from FOX, CNN, FBI, and Al-Jazeera, everyone was different, dont know if there is only one floating around now

6. See above

7. See 3

8. Dont know
9. " "

10. Because there is something in it, this is the only reason it is not available in its entirety, enough was given to air, thats it. They want to see if their are any "Codes" or "Orders" in it.

The US Government in Qatar, received a copt first, thats why there were no direct feeds from US Media.

Does al-jazeera have the resources to authenticate the tape?
If not how does al-jazeera know the tape was not a plant,
to possibly affect the outcome of the US elections? All the other
questions still apply.. if the US government does NOT have answers
to all those questions, why not? And surely you don't mean to
imply you accept the tape as authentic simply because it came from
al-jazeera?

You can take my word, or not, but I have looked a damn near every single video that has come out, and pulled it apart. They 99.9% of the time just send it to Al-Jazeera, and at the same time are uploaded to Numerous Jihad related sites. These last two, OBL, "Adam" were not done this way and were not available in full form Anywhere that I know of.(I look at about 65 Jihad sites a day) Someone usually has it.

Now the "Adam" one was delivered to ABC in Pakistan. That alone Puzzles me.

The OBL one was FIRST obtained by US officials in Qatar, then it was received later by Al-Jazeera. Al-Jazeera was to "Air" and post it with English Subtitles. This did not happen. I was told that only 12mins of the 18min tape were aired, and Not One US outlet carries a live, or delayed feed from Al-Jazeera. The Government in Qatar, not the US, told Al-Jazeera not to air the whole thing or release it until US Officials were able to Analyize the tape completely. Neither the US, or Al-Jazeera have commented on how they received it.

Thanks Trickmaster.
That is more information than I was able to locate.
Not one US outlet carries a live or delayed feed from Al-Jazeera?! Surely
you mean for public consumption? To not have the NSA (CIA?)
monitoring Al-Jazeera constantly would be an intelligence lapse exceeding
comprehension. But this all raises another question. If the government of
Qatar told Al-Jazeera not to air it "..until US officials .. analyzed..", and if
AL-Jazeera followed that request, then why would the US government say
it had completed its' analysis knowing the tape would then be released
before the elections? Unless.. it was viewed as potentially beneficial to the
Bush re-election? Or are we suddenly faced with some kind of ethics turn
around with the Bush administration, and they ..just couldn't justify
keeping a black out on it until after the elections?

- Surely Al Jazeera could have been supplied with this tape by almost anyone and they need not have any real clue who it was?

Obviously I can't say much about this myself but I don't see how it turning up at Al Jazeera proves anything in itself.

No doubt they have all sorts of contacts but even if it was coming through them that doesn't actually prove anything absolutely either, surely?
