Russian President discusses possibility of nuclear conflicts

Greetings to all, first off this happened a few days ago at a conference in russia i believe...secondly there were two Russian planes carrying what the mainstream seems to believe were nuclear warheads over the island of Guam. Honestly don't know what to believe as far as i can tell things are heating up....we will see what this brings. Also there are two vids Im going to try to embed forgive me if i can't seeing as this is my first post please bear with me. thank you for your time.

To be frank I think its all posturing but there could be some merit to these threats. If there is indeed a nuclear war there is no point of bullets now is there, so i leave it to you guys and gals. Also if the embed didn't work please help...many thx!

The only way that this could occur is if the US is in on it. You know the Russians just developed a new bomb technology that doesn't use fissionable material, therefore there is no radiation contamination and it gives a nice nuclear explosion affect

The point is you might think that. However there are far more people who hate the usa than that would support an effort against russia . I think your country would be destroyed but russia ,china, north korea , india , iran , crap the list could go on forever. I would think the u.k. would be reluctant on helping the americans and fighting another world war on their soil as the epicenter for the war games just to defend the american terrorist state .

You don't get it, destruction is mutually assured, IF the Russians and the USA go to "Thermo-Nuclear WAR" both sides are completely destroyed, probably within hours... Not only that but a great deal of all life on the planet would be destroyed, or be left dying, and struggling to survive.

Who is going to do that. The worlds strongest military has trouble dealing with a few Arabs in the back end of some cave system somewhere. What chance of just walking over the Russian military. No one is going to attack anyone here.. Just drum beating..

The clip i saw a little while ago also had Obama saying, during the same conversation with Medvedev, 'There's nothing i can do until i'm re-elected...'...bit presumptuous if nothing else, how did Obama know he WAS going to be re-elected?

Perhaps the subject of the clip is what all the hullabaloo is about?

My thoughts as a civilian with no military expertise so please feel free to debunk politely if i'm horribly wrong:

I'm not going to speculate on whether or not any foreign country will attack the US directly, that's just far outside the level of information made available to the public in my opinion. However, if any country does want to attack us invading our native soil would cost many many lives, and possibly even be impractical to even believe they could maintain any foot hold at all. A country like Russia shouldn't be interested in such a loss. Nuclear war on the other hand is a very different story. A supprise attack under the guise of a test or misfire (if detected which i'm sure it would be) would have a chance of doing major damage against any country including ours. Reaching its destination wouldn't even be necessary as detonation in the atmosphere and causing a nuclear fallout could actually have a decent chance of success. After which all of Russia would be on high alert making a nuclear retaliation far more difficult than the initial attack, and potentially costing many less lives than a direct attack. Not to mention that I remember reading on here a while back that Russia is actually building underground shelters for all of their citizens, perhaps they have actually been planning this for a while. I also wonder how many simultaneous ICBM's our military is capable of countering, what would happen if Russia were to launch half their arsenal all at once? I was taught in history class that during the cold war there was a period of time where our subs were tailing every Russian sub completely undetected, if that role has been reversed then that would be a majorly reduce the chances of a successful retaliation as well being as how all other nukes will most likely be coming from an already known location that can be monitored constantly.

Again these are just my thoughts, please feel free to educate me if you believe i'm wrong. I only ask that you do so with facts rather than propaganda.

Not wanting to stir the conspiracy pot too much here (well, ok just a little bit) but aren't most if not all American warheads equipped with Japanese made chips...?

I mention it because since Fukushima, Japan has been wrangling over some land held by Russia hasn't it?

If things got desperate enough for Japan, i would wonder if there was a backdoor or something to disable American nukes...NOT saying this is the case, or even could be, just floating it out there.

I'd like to believe that no one would, it's a stalemate, and lets hope it remains that way.

There was a recent event, and some rather scary rumors that the Russians went on high alert immediately after the recent meteor explosion, which was as if not more powerful than a nuclear bomb. They assumed they were under nuclear attack.

Now, what IF there had been several meteors and some of them impacted the ground, and the Russians immediately launched a full retaliatory nuclear attack on the USA?

To me that kind of scenario playing out on either side is very scary.
