46 billion is not 1% of the military budget it is about 6%.
With that said the military budget needs to be cut by at least half, and preferably like 80%. We do not need to be spending 100's of billions on
defense, as long is we have nuclear submarines nobody is going to attempt an invasion. With that said, anybody that believes cutting the defense
budget fixes our economy is very wrong. Medical spending is by far the largest problem.
As far as the 85 billion, that is about a 2% of the total federal budget. It is completely outrageous people are screaming about that amount of cuts.
When we lose our ability to run a deficit - Something I am almost 100% positive will happen within 5 years - more likely within 2 the federal budget
will be cut by 50% or more.
The fact that politicians and citizens are arguing a 2% cut is outrageous shows they have absolutely no clue what is in store for them in the very
near future - and demonstrates clearly nothing will be done to try to prevent a collapse. We are going to drive off the cliff at 100 mph and the
majority wont even realize it till the car impacts.
