If we are talking old school

The wild bunch on the spectrum

Also the Bards tale also on the spectrum

I was around 10 and played them both for a long time (when I was supposed to be slepping
)

That's a beautiful game. I read where they made it more for the PC than consoles. The PS4 will have a x86 processor so they most likely are starting to lean back to the PC architecture with gaming.
It's also showing 12/31/2013 as a release date but I'm guessing they are holding it so it can come out around the time of the PS4.

When I saw that at the PS4 unveiling, I was like "that's going to be so awesome." Good thing it's multi-platform as well.

I love Westerns, so if I had to pick one it'd have to be Red Dead Redemption.

I spent so many hours just riding a horse doing nothing. Good times.

Half life series
So much truth revealed.
The first time I played it I was amazed and left with so many questions.
The game play was genius, I think the first of its kind.
It turned FPS into a puzzle.
Instead of mindlessly shooting bad guy after bad guy it made you think.
The story is far closer to the truth then most realize. Its more then just futuristic cops and technology.
Pay attention to the story.

I can only imagine the impact it has on children.
A freedom fighter, fighting for freedom.

Awesome question!

All time favorite game, FFVII hands down. Best story I have ever played, it had so many double meanings and symbolism, it was awesome and I still play it to this day. I'm an eighties baby, so I have played my share.

Here's a few more of my favs,

Best stories,
Half-Life 2 ( another amazing story...tied with first)
Crono Trigger
Metal Gear Solid

More favs,
Tekken 3
Halo 3 (multiplayer, still play the odd game today)
Goldeneye on N64
Warcraft 2
GTA San Andreas
Diablo 1 & 2
Starcraft
Baldur's Gate
Red Dead Redemption
Forza 4
...Too many to list

Currently have been playing Halo Reach (multiplayer) and Skyrim.
"All your base are belong to us!"

The Escape Velocity series of games has captured and kept my attention since it first came out. Not a lot of games for mac back then (and I was stuck in S. Korea at the time) and the expandability of the games is incredible. I still play it about once a week.

After all that time, I pretty much have the combat and the glitches down. So I know exactly how to be "immortal" for a short period of time. (like during take downs for instance)

My favorite to play is most definitely, Fallout 3. Fallout: New Vegas is not as good as 3, but I love to play them. I also enjoy COD, Left 4 Dead (the first one).
Thank you for posting this thread. People have listed games I have not heard of, it gives me knew games to hunt for.

I love old school rpg's from NES, SNES and PSX days.

I also really enjoy face paced FPS's, however lately, it seems all FPS's are changing to third person and are getting slower and slower playstyle...oh and you always seem to be controlling Wolverine because every damn hero has a super regen now! Where the difficulty anymore!
Most games have just gotten waaaaaaaaay too easy, it must be part of the dumbing down of society.

About the only recent game I really enjoyed is Dark Souls, I strongly recommend it for players looking for a hack and slash/ rpg with a lot challenge and exploration.

Elder Scrolls Skyrim is my current top, but I've like most Elder Scroll games.

The oldest game I still love today and wish I could still play with out having to program some mods would be.
Zork: Grand Inquisitor. Still have the CD's for the game some where in my house.

1.The Elder Scrolls:Oblivion
2.The Elder Scrolls:Skyrim
3.The Witcher series
3.Mass effect 2
4.Dragon Age 1 and 2
I started Dead Space 3 recently and honestly I find it too stressful, I'm all for blood, gore and violence but those pesky zombies sprouting tentacles might give me a hearth attack in a dark room with my headphones on. By the way my sister is the only other female, playing video games that I know of.I always wondered why girls don't play. And I'm hardly a computer geek, I am a geek in the issues of pink phone cases, and pink phones in general and everything concerning Hello Kitty.
