This conspiracy has caused wars

I can't think of any actual wars caused by religion. The Crusades are the go to one, but really, this was more about looting the Middle East, cloaked in religious righteousness. Wars are ALWAYS about resources. Other reasons may be given as smokescreens, but with the hindsight of history focused on actions, we can easily see they were always about controlling resources.

Still though, since religion has been used as a tool for supporting war, I can grant you some fault may lie with it.
