Oh, yes, those evil for profit private companies! /sarcasm.
So you would rather have a for profit Government?

When you have a national healthcare system in place the motivation is to heal you not to treat you forever and create massive bills that are ridiculous and out of reach to ordinary Americans.

Where did you get that idea from? Have you even read the ACA?

The government in Canada does not make a profit off of healthcare, you are clearly missing the point. MY point is to get rid of health insurance all together. Everyone pays a little more tax on booz and cigarettes etc. to pay for it.
If the federal and state governments were responsible for the costs associated with healthcare the word profit isnt even in the equation.

Over seventy five years. That is a long time. At the present rate of increasing healthcare costs, even without Obamacare, every single person in the USA would be bankrupted by then.

We must find the reason these diseases are increasing. It is in the foods and possibly also in the electromagnetical world we live in. I see a big problem which must be corrected. Get the endocrine disruptors out of foods. Anything that jeopardises liver and kidney function needs to be investigated. We can't afford the high health care costs, in twenty years we will be a hospital state where people either work for the medical trade or contribute to it. Who is going to fix the plumbing or do electrical work? Who is going to build our homes? This country is a mess that needs a thorough cleaning.

Screw the medical/pharmacutical fields with their treatments. Learn to avoid chemistry that makes your body weak so you get sick. Most drugs that suppress the liver function tend to hurt the mitochondria which power our cells. psychrights.org...

The way they print money these days and give it away to the Elite...taxes have become nothing more than a way to reduce my wealth or income. The government does not need my money when they can just as easily print or electronically produce what they need to pay entitlements and miliatary contractors..

I am an American living in Canada. We pay a little more here for taxes on luxury items etc but I can go to the doctor for an earache, I can go get my lungs looked at with a bronchoscopy or break my hip, get it fixed up and I will see absolutely no bill.

Why America cant get this right is beyond me.

Americans can get treatment any and every day, with no waiting list/s and to a Dr of their choice, but will be billed. Americans can walk into any ER and get treatment & not be turned away. but yes, we will be billed. Most hospitals (every one I know of) will work out an affordable pymt. plan to those who don't have the money all at once. If a person is unable to pay because of income, many times things can be worked out through certain programs.

I don't know why some people get it in their minds that all Americans have to go untreated, because that's just not so.. in most cases. I've also never heard of the waiting lists here that I've heard of in some other places where socailized medicine takes place.

Heck how much have we spent fighting wars the last 75 years?

Don't forget though

Healthcare is evil!

Well hopefully ObamaCare will be reversed, you can get cancer, loose your insurance and
tell us how good the emergency room treats your cancer!

Cheers, most of the stuff you've "heard" about socialized healthcare is often propoganda in order to make you sit idle with the ridiculous system in place right now in the US.
Will you wait for a heart transplant in the US yes, anyone requiring a surgery etc gets an appointment. If it is an emergency there is no waiting.
Dont believe the negatives spewed about by ppl such as Rush Limbaugh about Canada's healthcare. I will tell you as a Canadian, the truth. I dont have medical bills and see doctors who dont have profit in their heads. Every CDN has it like this.

I think it's becoming clear now. Obama needs those teleprompters because nothing he says are HIS OWN words. he parrots what his speech writers have for him to speak and they write what they're told to write for policy statements and general speeches to the nation's future direction.

As we've seen..when Obama goes off the screens, be becomes a bilthering idiot. Much like the man to warm that seat before him. Biden doesn't even need a lack of teleprompters to fall into idiot status. He just kinda lives there with one foot in and out, every day.

I'd love to hear Barack Obama....as a MAN...just ONCE...say what HE really thought or felt about an issue. I don't think we ever have though and by now? I'm pretty sure we'll see his whole 8 years come and go without sincere words ever really having been spoken in any public forum.

The man is a true MASTER of Public Speaking. No one with sense can deny that or take it from him on that score. The problem is.....the Presidency is an executive position of LEADERSHIP ....not Speakership. Maybe next time we get a leader and not merely a speaker.

Drop ObamaCare and its monopoly on healthcare, Monopoly’s drive up prices. Open up state boards to increase competition. Let Doctors start up their own practices again and allow them to purchase supplies from whole sales to pass on the savings. Make it law that the patient has the right to see the price of an operation or service before its done.

Obama Care only impowers the insurance companys and drives out copetition. Thats why prices are skyrocketing. I remember before obama care was a wet dream, health care insurance would only increase 3%-4% a year. After Obamacare there has been nearly a 40% increase in the last two years!

People are so stupid sometimes

The Canadian Health System has its flaws as well....
I have waited actually years for an MRI
I have waited many many months for surgery.....instances of people actually dying before they get needed treatment occur.......
The truth is that the doctors, the hospitals, the whole shebang has a maonopoly on the system...Its a closed hierarchy.
Medical treatent should be available to all......
No regardless to all.........
The doctors and health care workers i see and know have a pretty fine and comfy life style along with an unhurried and casual work place.....everything here happens at a snails pace...
Unused, for half the 24 hours, medical diagnosis machines lay idle...while the specialised operators sleep in comfort.
Meanwhile real people suffer unwarranted agonies while awaiting diagnoses that are slow enough in comming to possily kill you in the meanime....
NO Medical system is perfect.
But the goverment should be administering the med system and it should all be supported by taxes.

All things that should have been openly debated IN PUBLIC on the Hill when Obama and Pelosi were developing this scam. If Congress would have nixed this Panacea approach and acted on individual issues that could drastically improve our existing system we'd be sitting pretty right now and we'd be seeing Geico and State Farm like commercials for Health Care insurance during the super bowl. Imagine all of those companies actually competing for OUR business. What a paradise!!

Sometimes I really wish I was a moderator JUST so I can give people like you more than one star. People are focusing on bread crumbs and letting serious issues like globalism off the hook. You said it best...I doubt even people will be around in the next 75 years. EVERYTHING about the government is ass backwards...they say one thing while deep down they mean the opposite. I say its black and you say its white....you know hidden meanings and all that....I guess CONgress means the opposite of progress.

But to be sincere national healthcare is something that SHOULD have been established a long time ago. Nearly every nation on this planet has some form of national healthcare, well except some really pathetic third world nations. We DO resemble third world nations when it comes to affordable healthcare. You smoke or drink? No healthcare for you, at least no private company with an affordable plan. Or chronic health problems? No healthcare for you. No steady job? No healthcare for you. The republican mantra of self responsibility has been deplorably deceiptful; in reality though they "just" want to protect big pharma and doctors charging exorbitant rates. I have no problem with doctors and other valuable professionals making more than unskilled labor but my god there should be some limits. But I guess the outrageously greedy for profit colleges/universities that put you in debt $150k by the time you graduate helps immensely to create dependency for all. Its a chain reaction of overpricing in some fields and everyone pays the piper in the end.

I think there should be an opt out provision in place so employees and employers can choose what they want. This is also good for competition's sake. They can keep each other in check. Those that already have private insurance should not be forced to have public health insurance as well.

And taxing the crap out of booz and cigarrates is getting old and deplorable. Just about anything can be done in moderation. Society is messed up and people need 'crutches' whether it be tobacco, liquor, narcotics, more sex, more hobbies. The bankers, wall street and crooked politicians create all the problems and people are too ignorant and apathetic to challenge anything.

At this point in American history it is imperative to watch what we consume and how it affects our health. A sensible plant based diet rich in fruits and veg will keep a person away from the doctor most of the time. I don't trust the .gov to take care of my health and neither should you.

No, the motivation is to cut costs to fit a budget. Just ask Obama about how his granny should not have had a hip replacement but he paid for it out of his own pocket......there will be no motivation to heal when the govt oversees everything and it's all run in a bureaucratic mess, just like everything else the govt does.

Yes and no. It lowers the cost of health insurance, but at the same time makes it mandatory for many people who still cant afford it. Myself, for example, fall into the mandate, so even though i cant afford a car payment, a house, orsave any money for retirement, im forced into this "crapcare" or pay a fine. On top of taxes being raised, which another poster pointed out in another thread. This whole thing is a horrible idea built from lies and empty promises. Score 1 for the govt., people: 0

I still think we can repeal and replace this Death Panel nightmare aka ObamaCare.

I guess it was a bad idea to pass ObamaCare and THEN read the bill !

Nancy Pelosi is an idiot.

A solution arrived in Canada a long time ago.
