Spaces in the Labyrinth

Has anybody noticed that the spaces at the top of the labyrinth are all lined up and have exactly 2 lines in between? or that some of the other (not in the line) spaces have polar opposites? maybe the position of the spaces have something to do with a clue? But what would i know?

(oh, if i am on the wrong track or am mentioning previously discussed subjects, sue me. i couldn't be bothered looking back through everything)
