In every one of these ban states cops are a caveat. For all the absurd restrictions and hoops that affect people in CA, NJ, NY, MA etc... none apply to cops for their personal collections. The cops are "special." If a cop has a pistol grip in CA it's okay. If a non-cop in the next stall over has one its time in prison.

These gun dealers are not taking any stand against the police anywhere or they won't be in business very long.

Low-ball estimations claim over 80 million buying, collecting, sporting, gun owners while cops make up less than 1 million. As a business owner should I cater to the 1 and risk alienating the 80 or cater to the 80 and risk alienating the 1?

Local police departments will find some reason, any reason to shut them down.

Speaks volumes of the corruption so many assume is rampant among police, doesnt it?

Olympic, Barrett, Citizen...

I feel I have the need to clarify a few things. I used the articles title which states "Gun Companies". Having read the article it is clear to me in what that means, it does not mean "Manufacturers", but maybe they should have used the word "Dealers" and it would have been a little more clear as to who is actually taking a stand.

Next is what they are doing. LEO and Government officials are exempt from the new laws in regards to what the public can own. These companies are not letting them come from another State in order to purchase guns or parts that are illegal in their home State exempt or not. In other words, if the general public can not own something the gun dealers will not sell to those that have the exemption. If the public can't have it then neither can LEO or Government officials.

This is not being done in regards to service weapons as the "Manufacturers" are not in on the movement at this time and that is where the departments and Government agencies get their weapons. This is "Personal use" weapons being sold by "Private Dealers".

I hope this cleared up some of the misconceptions on this story. PLEASE read the main article hyperlinked in the title for all the information.

What exactly do you think it is that prevents complete nullification of the Constitution? Do you think if the US was a fully disarmed country, that we would have the rights we still do? Our rights are already under attack(as you mentioned), but the answer is not to arm up and hit the streets as that would be a serious tactical error and an overreaction, at least at this point. This country is armed to the teeth and our Constitutional rights are being threatened, but still you dont see us doing stupid sh*t en masse because there are still other courses of action and support for the 2nd Amendment is becoming more obvious by the day.

If they start kicking in people's doors and demanding their guns and if they start wrongfully enforcing things like the NDAA, that's different. But we are not stupid enough to ignore the propper channels/laws and get violent when it's not necessary.

This is a really good idea! Do not sell guns, ammo etc... to those who 'protect the general public, but keep selling it to those who do not. Bravo! It really shows the true intelligence of people who sell killing tools for a living. Once again, bravo!

everyone is up in arms (pun intended) about the second amendment. Talking about protests and everything else, freedom of speech, everything else with the first amendment is basically gone along with other amendments but it takes bearing arms to get people to give a #! come on while I agree with this people are stupid enough to roll over when everything else is taken away from them. So either fight for all your rights or just shut up and continue to roll over. freedom of speech, religion, being spied on everywhere you go, they don't seem to care about that. it takes weapons to get people to care. Absolutely ridiculous people don't care about anything else that comes to them, it shows where the world is truly at.

Obviously, they can afford to make that business decision. Another company will gladly step in and take those profits.

Quite a few of the companies listed may not be the "big" manufacturers that some of you are thinking of, but the reality is that the big manufacturers only handle the bulk loads. A lot of these companies sell to LEOs, SWAT teams, special forces, etc. In fact many of them make the bulk of their business around this.

So while it may not be the biggest providers of bulk stock weaponry, like Colt's military M4's, or Glock's LEO disbursement, you'd be ignorant to think there is no impact to government enforcement by these guys refusing to sell.

A quick example:

Both of these companies are very highly regarded and very heavily utilized by LEO and special forces. It may not be as ground breaking as if Colt refused to fulfill their Military contracts, but it's still something, and TPTB -do- take note, even if it isn't the end of the world for them.

Also, and this is just my opinion (well, I'm sure others' too), but in order to gain total dominance over the people, you must take away their ability to defend or fight for their rights and freedoms (2nd Amendment), so that you can then remove their ability to protest at all (1st Amendment). That is a big reason for many people, myself included, being so "up in arms" over the attacks on the 2A. Trust me, when they try to take the rest of your rights away, you'll wish you HAD the arms to be "up in arms" over it.

The "government" is and has been actively attacking the 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 13th amendment. This is not about firearms .... this is an attempt to openly codify the authoritarian coup that has taken place. And they are close. Very close.
