Why are Americans deluded into thinking they could win a civil war?

so...apparently my "The Resistance is not an Army" thread went all over your heads...

The Resistance is not an Army, it should be a Counter-Intelligence organization.

You don't fight the world's foremost superpower head on.
You study it's weaknesses and pressure those points until they collapse..

How would you go about doing this without stopping the governments that protect these individuals?

Your logic is that if the government is to become totalitarian and soldiers are marching through the streets is to remain content and negotiate? "Hey guys its futile, even if we win"..... I don't understand

What would you do?

There aren't any troops in the street here.

Who is we and who is the enemy?

Anyone that threatens the state at this point and time is my enemy. I use this word rarely. Enemy. You are my enemy until death do us part. The natural system of the state as we know it will begin to break down in the next 40 to 60 years due to the rising levels of technological innovation and economic cohesion/eventual dissolution. You see, soon, there will be record numbers of uneployment due to automatic labor taking up all if not most of the manufacturing and service jobs. There will be a crisis where in which most of the people find themselves with no means of production or income. The world will be in a state of temporary chaos. Though, the obvious will stare us in the face. We will fear it more than we fear the idea of apocalypse. We'll look in the face of a possible utopian type path and question it every step of the way. When the machines produce the goods, grow the crops, harvest the crops, and distribute the consumables...where will man find work? Where will man even need currency when there is abundance based upon endless labor and a pooling of resources? We will, with great difficulty, be dragged into Utopia by the greed of the Capitalist fiends themselves. They will relish the idea of workers that don't stop, don't eat, don't sleep, don't need health insurance (only maintenance). This will backfire on the entire system. The state...all states...will be coerced into the only solution available. Free humanity.
No more work. No more currency. No more worry.
(Panic will ensue, as the slaves without their shackles will be lost and confused)
All the while, medical technology shoots higher and higher and death outside of "accident" is virtually unheard of in these new resource based societies.
Thus...the dawn of man begins.
Anyone wants to jeopardize that with "muh freedoms" can consider themselves an enemy of every Post Human who will ever be born/who is alive today as merely a man/woman. You all are enemies of the future, of the light, of the Galactic Dawn of mankind. I don't care about what you believe, what you think, or how you feel. All of that # is irrelevant. The future of the race depends on us getting over this last hurdle of greed and deception. The system is "SET" to fall in upon itself unintentionally. It's simply the causal flow of consequence. Your "civil war" will jeopardize everything. You even attempt it and I swear that every resource I have and will gain will be focused upon shutting all of it down. I'll shut every single voice of opposition down for the Dawn of Man to come about.

Sure, you'll question me. Laugh. Say it'll never happen. Call me a wannabe tyrant. Call me the harbinger of dystopia. Fine. For one second, let's consider that I'm right:
Think about those automatic shopping kiosks. Think about those self checkouts. Think about those factories where cars are produced. Think about all of that. Think about how technology progresses.

www.huffingtonpost.com...

share this story 220 80 7 Submit this story Earlier this year, news permeated the Internet of a machine that had the capabilities of creating a hamburger entirely on its own. The machine, in essence, would take raw ingredients like tomatoes, pickles, onions, lettuce, buns and your choice of meat, and out the other end would emerge a fully-cooked, ready-to-eat "gourmet" hamburger. The implications of this machine, at the time, were heavy. Why do we need a machine like this? Are our chain restaurants not serving you a burger fast enough? Are we interfacing with too many humans as it is (note: sarcasm)? The new machine, which still remains unnamed, is capable of producing approximately 360 burgers an hour in a 24-square foot area. When the news of this machine surfaced earlier this year, no one knew where the robot's creators (Momentum Machines) would take their product. Would they sell to a burger restaurant chain and let them utilize their machine to streamline their kitchen? Almost 11 months later, the creators have expressed plans to create their own "smart restaurant" chain to strut the capabilities of their burger-making robot.

The future is coming. You'll question: won't the elites just off us if we aren't necessary anymore? No. There will be no need for /that/ plan anymore. There will be no more competition as the obvious advancements of deep sea and space exploration allows a pooling of an almost infinite amount of resources to PUSH UP THE K line.

Anyone one who desires to destabilize the Number #1 nation on this planet...and therefore destabilize the future...just know that you have hundreds of millions of enemies who are prepping for an amazing future. What would you give to ensure that the decedents of man lived in perpetual bliss, super human health/intelligence, and spiritual-physical-mental freedom? I'd give my life.

I'm watching you all in my little fantasy world. I'm willing to protect the future.

I'ts moronic drivel from people that have more guns than they have IQ points.

The same people will argue about all our soldiers getting killed in [insert name of foreign country here], but they want to have these same soldiers lined up in their crosshairs?

Any civil war on American soil would also result in a number of opportunist nations stepping in to "help".
Many a faction would even willfully invite said "help"; entirely ignorant of the cost such "help" would result in.

All in all, for the most part, it's loud mouthed morons that have self marginalized themselves because for whatever reason, they can't seem to live by the same laws that everyone else seems to be quite fine and okay with.

I don't have any guns and I see no reason for a civil war - YET! If you think on human history can you tell me of a government that DIDN'T get corrupted and needed to be torn down?

It will happen. People that win a public office are aggressive and greedy. They lust for power, sex, and money. They create, or manipulate, laws that will work in their favor (and not yours).

Think about it. Today, if you are a U.S. citizen, you and your children are now subject to body searches every time you fly to grandma's for the holidays. Who would call it freedom when the government can violate your private parts and call it necessary when all they have to do is check the flights coming in from other countries and make our borders more secure?

Interesting post. I think it all depends upon the Military and the ideals of the revolutionaries. If a majority of the military sides with the revolution, then the government is doomed to fail. But, that will depend upon the ideals the revolution is based on.

That said, the beginning of the revolution will most likely be a massacre as untrained citizens rise up against the federal government. They will, of course, meet overwhelming odds and be summarily destroyed as we've seen in countless revolutions. Those who die, if their ideals are widely accepted, could be treated as martyrs by others, bringing more into the fight.

At first, as is most always the case, the revolution will be met with numerous defeats and pushed back into the hills, valleys and mountains where they will regroup, rearm and begin to train. They will restart the revolution with a series of guerilla style attacks on the infrastructure aided by those loyal in the military. They will only stand a chance of fully succeeding if/when those in the miiitary turn on the government.

A smaller, well led and well trained force can defeat a superior force. History tells us this is true. The government will not be able to use nuclear weapons and, in fact, could have those taken away depending on the level of military support to the revolutionaries. Also, you forgot about foreign powers intervening and helping the revolutionaries.

The OP is a good example of what's wrong with america. Too many of us won't fight and just say it's hopeless. Americans can win the battle against their evil govt if they focus on federal congressman and judges. Those traitors are the enemy and if a few of them are drug out of their mansions and "softened up" then things will change for the better.

Well...talk about "sacrificial" lamb in the most obnoxious sense..

whatever it takes for OneElectric to have his Iphone 15s guys...WHATEVER IT TAKES!!!

I do agree that with the dawn of the age machines...there will be no need for humanity ANY longer...Once people no longer provide a "service" to others and become "useless"...its "GAME OVER"...the only reason humanity is tolerated is because people are "useful"...if you aren't useful...you are ignored under a bridge...

Everyone will have an Iphone 15s though...so that will be cool

I heard it will have an app that will breathe for you too!!

Unless of course you are capable of thinking outside your fantasy where the elites download "you" into a machine so you are forced to exist outside your wishes because they have overseeing programs that supercede human intellect.
Who said they wanted a civil war? Come on get out here show us all a moron.
No one?
Any one?

what better way to bring down the US...no bombs, no weapons, no losses...just keep stirring up the idea of a failed government, that is against it's own people, and will stop at nothing to kill their own fellow americans...critical thought is needed here....has the term "divide and conquer" ever been more apparent?
edit on 24-2-2013 by jimmyx because: (no reason given)

Really? We don't need foreign sources. We have our current government doing it real well. Our forefathers must be rolling over in their graves. What "we" call freedom today is a joke. Your kids can't even have a lemonade stand without a permit.

Our government is taking all they can get and most people (sheeple) are letting them do it. Guys like Rand Paul and a handful of others are standing up to it all and sooner or later so will the true patriots who are tired of being slaves. Just take a look at what's going on around you. The murders, the "swat teams" middle of the night raids, the new laws taking away our freedoms.

And it's not only the government it's the corporations too. Bank of America and CTI won't let you buy guns or ammo with their credit cards. Comcast cable won't advertize guns or ammo. It's going way too far and soon people will have to wake up or give up.

Yeah, I guess you two are right. What's the use of even thinking about it.

I guess I'll just sit in my house and watch all my rights being taken from me, then watch my property be confiscated by the government, then maybe if I am lucky I'll end up in a work camp rather than being shot.

But I am sure OUR socialist dictator will be much nicer than the ones from world history. This IS the United States, after all.

[People seeing what I described as a nightmare]

I'll just be simple and pleb tier in this post since abstract future talk is difficult for some.

It ends in humanity changed to live at amazing lengths, to never need again, and to look towards space as the next frontier. I'll admit, it's a coin toss, but one I'm willing to make.

No, this has nothing to do with 15 iPhones. That was idiotic. This has to do with the first portion of Psalm 23:2. This isn't about laziness or not wanting to work. This is about freeing humanity to do great things and to create a legacy amongst the stars.

If you were to truly look at humanity today, and the state that its in...you could almost taste what hell truly is. We are ALMOST out of the woods. Why the hell would I want to jeopardize that?

Seriously, if you had to choose between. This same Consumerist # and a Future 10x better than Star Trek...which one would you gamble it all on?

Star Trek IS the objective, the current world cryptocracy which holds ALL the 5th TIER tech would have to fall first or MY scenario might take hold.
You don't know exactly what they have, I know some but it's absolutely pointless to discuss because I have no proof to show you.
They already have tests showing how they can download your thought patterns in England
This smacks of transhumanism aka Borg,a hive mind.Kiss imagination goodbye, emotions too.
Not to mention A CIVIL WAR WOULDN'T BE OUR IDEA.
They attack first,They are the agitators not us.
I'm not aiming anything at anyone, but I sure as hell KNOW I am on a list,a list that wouldn't matter unless SOMEONE wanted more control and my opinion threatens them enough to single me out.
As to the war on terrorism, they weren't to gentle were they?
You want all this to stop then vote them out next year.I never thought of a civil war under Clinton,Bush pushed a lot of wrong buttons but he wasn't calling me a potential terrorist now was he?

The military wouldn't stand a chance. The government wouldn't stand a chance. We win. Case Closed. HOw do I know this? Because the military we have now is having a hard time winning the civil war in Afghanistan. Because the Lords & Ladies in Washington DC are afraid of they're own shadows, so WHY would they pull the trigger on the NRA? To sustain combat operations inside the US, the military would need to be re-supplied, how would they get re-supplied when almost all the people involved with doing that are CIVILIANS? Yes, tell the US military they're gonna have to go door to door in Los Angeles, Houston, Detroit, New York, Denver, and see how they feel about that. Yeah, I want to see our military win a civil war in the US. How many of the troops we'd be fighting do you think would come over to 'our' side. We (The People) win. No Worries.
