Quadrotor pole dancing

not really - but there's some pretty spiffy real time computation of dynamics going on in this demo of quadrotors tossing and catching an inverted pendulum - aka a pole balancing on 1 vertically, being tossed over its end and being caught on the other, balanced vertically on the other end.

awesome, now those quad copters could be armed with firearms and firing would not disrupt their flight enough to be prohibitive...

Its like when they made that robot that could run faster than a person....

Some how this will end in tears...

Yawn - that is trivial and was demonstrated almost a year ago by civilians -



my OP is about somethign that is actually INTERSTING - do try to:

1/ keep up,
2/ appreciate the achievent I've posted about, and
3/ keep the knee jerk conspiracy paranoia out of it

You know that was a viral marketing for a video game right?

Did you see the thread about them wanting to push for a ban on killer robots? its not hard to extrapolate where these technologies (as cool as they may be) will go.
