I was wondering if anyone could explain the different foreign policy views America has held during the 20th century particularly in these three key areas.

Prior to WWI

Between WWI and WWII

And during the beginning of the Cold War.

What I am interested in finding is what policies did we practice during each of these times, what our stated goals were for the period, and whether our foreign policy for that period could be considered successful or not...did we reach our stated objectives.

During each of these periods were we isolationist or something different, what was America trying to accomplish on a global scale with their foreign policy, what were the biggest threats, and did our policies accomplish our goals.

Thanks.
