The greatest accomplishment of this President will be that he rejuvenated the Power of the States and a move toward a less centralized government.

There was a time when the purpose of Congress was to insure and protect the interest of the people back home. The Federal Government was a tool of the people not the Master. What Barack Obama and his Liberal followers have done with issues like out of control spending, Obama Care, droans over America, and their failing attempt dismantle the 2nd Amendment, is to fortify the will of the Governors and the power base back home.

It has become a matter of Red and Blue States in it simplicity. What the D.C. power base is beginning to recognize is that although they may control the population in certain regions one look at a Red and Blue USA in the end represents the true power base and serves as a map for the dismantling of Federal authority.

A new age is coming. A movement to reinstate authority to the states and a return to the foundation of our freedoms.

I am in the South. We are seeing people fleeing the North in droves. The Federal Government is strengthening the South with their Left Wing agenda. Hopefully the North will come to their senses and turn this trend around. We are headed in the wrong direction.

So you want to dismantle the Constitution and return to the Articles of Confederation?

Do you think that would work?

It would be wonderful because I am so sick of the red states mooching all the federal dollars from the blue states with nothing to offer. So, yes, let's all just go back to states doing for their own. That would mean that Florida Governor Scott would have to pay for his own peoples heath care instead of letting nasty Obama pay 100% of the cost for all those new Floridians getting access to medical coverage. No more mooching and suckling off of the federal governments tit right ? Time to shut that whole thing down. let the states take care of their own. If they have a natural disaster, that's not Americas problem. That's their problem. Don't call FEMA. Take care of it yourself. You are so spot on OP. Let's end the mooching and return everything back to the states.

Yup, its just like the moovies ... the good guys and the bad guys shooting it out in living technicolor for the entertainment of the dazzled audience. Off the set they're best buds and care for nothing but their contracts and the box office sales. Next moovie up, they switch roles and the box office profits some more.

Art imitating party politics.

If it were not for posts like this, we would have never realized how much power has been taken over by the federal government since the 2008 elections.
I am amazed how it was done so suddenly and quietly. I really don't remember things being so bad under any prior administrations.

Red States,Blue State I don't by that but there is something said about this, for example I posted my home state and if you look at all the blue and red the state was very much divided, Look at the Countys that BO won, its the counties with large populations........or Indian Reservations......do you really think $47 million dollars of handouts in these big cities helped get there votes?

I would not want to head south, why to many Military Instalations, Goverment facilties ect, i rather be someplace north and away from all those handout babies.

What is amazing is that there are so many people who simply do not understand the meaning of 'states rights' in terms of the US Constitution. Most associate it with the bad old days of racism and segregation... which indeed did sadly happen but, the current confusion is furthered by a federal power scheme that prefers to keep the public so misinformed.

The bottom line is that all things not covered by the constitution, fall under the states to control. This includes, but is not limited to, the issuance of driver's and marriage licences. The states have rights that have been guaranteed by the constitution for over 200 years...

What do you mean by returning "power to the States"? You meaning by granting State governments the rights to infringe o individual liberties again like many of them did before? There are individual rights that need to be protected from government, local, State and Federal. If this has nothing to do with that then please define these specific powers states should be granted over American citizens.

That's what the feds do now. They have forced affirmative action on us. The govt mandated persecution of white males and the biggest hate crime in america. Thank the feds for it.

States rights means that the states are sovereign. Like the states in the european union are now. That's how america was when it was founded.

No doubt that if more power is given to the states that they will use it to to discriminate against minorities, women and persons that are not Christians. We only have to go back some 50 or 40 years when it was the federal government that had to step in and get rid of the jim crow laws that dominated southern society and politics.

You seem to forget that it was our founding fathers that realized that a weak central government would not work and that's why they got rid of the articles of confederation.

Funny enough is the fact that Ronnie Reagan made the Federal Government more powerful
due to his policies.

There seems to be a disconnect of rhetoric, history and logic.

How many blacks were selected as delegates to the constitutional convention?
How many women helped craft the rules?
Who was named to run the first central bank of North America (hint: it was Robert Morris, constitutional delegate and white guy from Pennsylvania.)

No, weak central government.....and....STRONG state government.

The Federal Government was established to assist the states....NOT....rule them.

But less than 80 years after the Constitution was ratified Lincoln took the country to war not to assist the states, but to protect the "union" FROM the states. There were no rules in the constitution to protect the states from an internal war to bust state authority, or to protect them from the 14th amendment that was passed less than a decade later making ALL natural born inhabitants FEDERAL citizens. How that amendment was "deemed" passed is anybody's guess although many claim it was not legally ratified.

There were 37 States in the Union at the time, so ratification by at least 28 was necessary to make the amendment an integral part of the Constitution. Actually, only 21 States legally ratified it. So it failed of ratification.
