Person with a 'long rifle and body armor' reported at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, police say

This morning information was received from Cambridge Police that there was a person with a long rifle and body armor in the Main Group Building of MIT. Multiple law enforcement agencies have responded, stay indoors and shelter in place and report suspicious activity to the campus police dispatch dial 100. More updates to follow.

I hope those of us who are following this SAVE our information this time (horrible there is a 'this time'). I didn't save information I read/watched over another incident recently and I still regret it.

Certainly hope those people are safe.

Time to send out some prayers.

Police officials said that person was reported to be inside a building. Officers have searched that building and did not find anything.

The school sent out an emergency alert telling students to stay indoors and away from the Main Group Building, which is where the person in question was seen.

The school is also asking anyone to report any suspicious activity to campus police.

prayers for those in sorrow due to this callous and cynical bs. No matter from which angle it comes from, or who is doing this.. it's wrong. To harm another person brings it's own karma. There is a huge amount of negative karma in those who have perpetuated this mess. What goes around comes around. Life is a circle.

There is far more hope than I see spoken off online. Folks are so wrapped up in fear and paying attention to it online that they are neglecting the good things they could do to combat the darkness. Sad ..truly sad

The radio is eerily quiet...maybe they're learning, "loose lips sink ships". Or, they're on another system that doesn't have a live feed Anyone able to locate any more live scanner feeds?, I am not having any success thus far.
