Did I say that? No. Please, use some critical thought, rather than
leaps of nonsense.

What is apparent is she has a job with the DHS, and she made the decision,
That is simple enough, and the boat made way to the rightful owner due
to the sellers diligence, in spite of the lack of competence by the employee.

The coast guard "lady" messed up big time. But she got her joy ride out of it anyway so I doubt she'll care.

so you got it the next day....the problem is corrected in one day by having the builder make a phone call...i know this will sound insensitive....but, get over it...this crap happens all the time, in many different governmental offices, on many different levels. is it frustrating?...yeah? is it normal?... pretty damn close if it wasn't done exactly correct the first time.
have a beer, a shot, or a glass of some adult beverage, and relax...take it from someone that has had 2 heart attacks due to stress...it just not worth it...ok i'm done...sorry about the rant

She made the decision and she was wrong.

If she was told from higher up to confiscate the boat, the guy would be caught up in the red tape bs that you mentioned.

In this instance, the bloated governance stopped with her, this isn't an initiative from higher up.

"Directives" are not initiatives from higher ups, they are standing
rules of operation. So are we done now/

OK I am going outside and pull the covers off my boat and let it get very dirty and give it a few scratches and just muss it up so it doesn't shine so pretty anymore. When I leave from the dock I will pretend to have problems with the motors.

I have had plenty of experience with boat motors and being stranded in the water or on a small island when I ran 17' ski boats in fresh water and the ocean.

Retired and bought a nice one that would not leave me high and in the water again.
But it is too pretty so must go undercover now. ta ta ta taaaaa
