You're an idiot. NO modern tank can be tken out by a .50 caliber especially NOT with an incendiary round. The hottest anti-armor round can only pierce 19mm of armor. A .50cal round couldn't even take out a WWII Sherman with its 76mm of armor.

* Cartridge, Caliber .50, Saboted Light Armor Penetrator, M903
This cartridge has a 355 – 360 gr (23.00 – 23.33 g) heavy metal (tungsten) penetrator that is sabot-launched at a muzzle velocity of 4,000 ft/s (1,219 m/s). The 0.30 in (7.7 mm) diameter sabot, which is designed to break up at the muzzle to release the penetrator, must also survive the gun environment until launch. It is injection molded of special high strength plastic and is reinforced with an aluminum insert in the base section. The cartridge is identified by an amber sabot (Ultem 1000). For use only in the M2 series of machine guns. This round can penetrate 19mm of steel armor at 1500 yards.[10]

.50 calibur machine guns can take down tanks with ease, especially with armor piercing or incendiary rounds.

However in this instance, the most that this guy had is a .50 calibur rifle, which is completely legal in the US, ammo and all as far as I am aware. I'd be hell bent to see anyone take down any kind of vehicle with a bolt action rifle, regardless of the ammunition they use.

Well armed! that was hilarious

Go on quote where I said that

A|gain I say, "You wonder why there is Talk of Gun Confiscation"

There is no wonder about that the most well protected people in this country are afraid of the little people.

The fact is that guy would have never gotten close enough anyone trying to make a mountain of that sinkhole is not seeking "intelligent" conversation.

people get "facebook" hacked quite often, and by that i mean they leave their facebook accounts logged in all the time and usually a friend comes by and posts something embarrassing. there is literally no proof of his guilt.

then again, when does the current administration need proof of anything to convict?

he doesn't even have a .50 cal. *big sigh* are they even trying anymore?

twosides:

So, to you, Well Armed Citizens , with a Political Hit List, is a Good thing.

here's something from pelosi:

WASHINGTON -- House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is not sure whether the public should be told when the federal government kills an American citizen. "Maybe. It just depends," she said

www.huffingtonpost.com...

so to you, a government with a political/personal/any reason hit list of americans is a good thing?

Why are those called tank busters?

because its really freaking dramatic and causes people to demand laws against them...because its scary sounding and their ignorance supports this fear.

its the same reason they call semi-auto weapons "ASSAULT rifles/weapons"...its really scary sounding and ignorant people run down the street with their purses flapping in the air demanding laws to protect them from their own shadow and ignorance only one of which they are even aware of.

No, Due Process is something that , amongst other things, made US a Beacon on the Global Stage.
But your comparing actions of our Government, to a Citizens "Hit " list , as a Means of Justification , is Laughable.

What are you going to say next?
Benny the Loanshark kills People who dont pay their Debts, so its OK for the Gov to kill people who dont Pay their Taxes ?

Once this bland goth girl I went to school with made a hitlist of "preps" on her desk in class. She was expelled, etc, dumbstuff all taken seriously. Now she's a very attractive woman with a family.

People do dumb things, people make "hitlists," the media makes lists worse worster worstest! If it was something private, yeah it might be a concern, but people get riled up reading online and post stuff that might be a little extreme without thinking. I have seen plenty of people make themselves look crazy on facebook. A grown man makes a hitlist online and you take that serious? Why would he post it if serious?

Anyway a 50 bmg isn't a tank buster, and it doesn't appear he owned the rifle to shoot it (which is fairly expensive in the working man's world).

Tell me about it. My now exgf recently got on my facebook on my phone which was logged in and started sending messages to girls I have been friends with and known since highschool. Sure.. my fault for staying signed in, and sure my fault for dating a 22 year old, but still it happens.

If this guy really had a hit list or made threats and posted them, that was stupid on his part and he should, at the very least, be questioned about it.

On the other hand, it isn't entirely implausible that this could entirely be the doing of the land lady. Back about 10 years or so ago I lived in a townhouse complex and our property manager quit and I was one of the only other stay-at-home moms who lived there so the property owner offered me the job as property manager. It was a nice job and the pay was that we got to live there rent free.

Over time, I came to realize that the man who owned the property was bat poop insane. What finally caused me to stop working for him, and not long after that to move, was that we had a tenant whom he wanted to evict, but who wasn't far enough behind on her rent to get a court order for. The property owner demanded that I go into the tenant's unit and shut off her water and take any items that looked like they would equal the amount she owed. I refused and warned the tenant about what I had been told to do and also told a friend who was a local cop. Since this wasn't the first time he had made requests like this that I had refused, I resigned and started making plans to move.

Very shortly before I moved, the tenant told me that the property owner had gone into her unit - while she was there - and just started taking things and walking out with them. He also called the police and told them that she had drugs and illegal weapons and a bunch of Korans and that he thought she was a terrorist (this was not very long after 9/11) and was planning something. A handful of neighbors came to me (not knowing who to turn to since there wasn't a new property manager yet) and complained because he also went to each unit in the complex and was saying the same things about the girl to them that he had told the police and they were worried.

Not a single word of what he said was true, the girl was Hispanic and not even Middle Eastern, but it didn't matter and he ruined her life there just because she was 2 weeks behind on her rent due to a medical emergency.

I wouldn't have believed it before that experience, but some people will go to extreme lengths to harm people whom they don't like.

I certainly don't know as much about the guns and ammo as others on this thread, but I am a sword collector and I can say that the swords in the picture appear to be collectors pieces. I can't see the blades, but judging by the appearance in the picture they likely don't have very sharp blades anymore and are for displaying and not using.

Take care,
Cindi

Sorry that this ended up being novel length. I'm a wordy beast and need to work on that.

orly? how is a citizen's reaction to government tyranny less justifiable than the government doing away with due process and executing people whenever it wants?

you're ok with the government taking out citizens without a trial, or even giving evidence and admitting that someone was assassinated, but you're not ok with citizens revolting against such actions.

the fact that it is the actions of our government (quite a few people involved, not some lone extremist) makes it even worse.

What are you going to say next? Benny the Loanshark kills People who dont pay their Debts, so its OK for the Gov to kill people who dont Pay their Taxes ?

nice strawman. i'm saying the government has a hit list of americans it considers "terrorists", and one thing that can get you on those lists is disagreeing with the government on policy. most americans are terrorists as the DHS defines the term. yet you're more angry with someone whose response is reactionary?

The guy is a moron for making that list, the cache of weapons is Nothing spectacular, and rather poor. the Tank Buster rounds lol, doesnt even have the right weapon to fire them. what a goof. Leave it up to the MSM to blow this out of porportion.

At the risk of starting a gun porn thread, here's a pic of my two 50BMG Barretts:

They're not at all like what's shown in the OP's article. 50 cal rifles are not small, nor are they light. You can't fire them off your shoulder, generally, although you can make hay at close range with the sling if you've got 10 tracer rounds loaded up in the M82.

Two rifles neither which are chambered for a .50bmg. He probably has them cause they are big and look cool.

And it begins. I heard about this 10-15 years ago, the false flag introduction of domestic citizen terrorists. Now enter check points, drones, required multi-million dollar insurance on gun carriers, 1000% tax on ammo......

We're in for a wild ride folks

So now you guys are defending someone who's making death threats?

Look, not all gun owners are crazy....but there are are a lot of crazy people who own guns. It's not some big conspiracy to make gun owners look bad. These people really exist. Just look at this site. There's a lot of reasonable gun owners, but there are many certifiably insane people posting here who have claimed to own guns.

The media publishes these stories because they are the hot topic. That's all. There was literally only one paragraph in the article I read about guns. The rest was about the death threat. But of course, many of you just read the part about guns, and ignore the focus of the story.

Your delusional obsession with guns needs to stop. It's not the media abnormally focusing on guns. It's YOU.

Leave it up to the MSM to blow this out of porportion.

1. It's not even in the MSM. 2. It's only being blown out of proportion HERE.

Look, I'm pro-gun. The reason I say these things is because you're all making gun owners look bad! You really are!

what you fail to grasp is that the people he allegedly targeted support the murdering of americans with no due process or accountability.

let me break it down into simplified terms. group "A" illegally assassinates members of group "B" for their beliefs. put in those terms, most would agree that group "B" is being wronged and should defend themselves.

but suddenly when group "A" is changed to "the government" and group "B" is changed to "domestic terrorists" (read citizens who support the constitution and disagree with government policy), then retribution from group "B" becomes evil and unjustified.

if substituting in loaded terms like "government" and "domestic terrorist" changes your opinion on the subject you're opinions are being influenced by an external stimulus, and not by logic.
