I think the state of NK is the most 1984 type state on the planet IMHO the bankers ( like the one letters revealed recently ordered the hit on the czar and his whole familly and then invested in the Bolshevic revolution ) want to see just how far they can take the hammer and fist style dictatorship...

I also wonder what secret things are being made in that prison state behind that curtain...I betcha its bad news for the rest of us...

Absolutely correct...TPTB are monitoring the NK state, it is a testing ground. A testing ground of how far a Police State can go, the do's and don'ts, what works, what doesn't.

And how they can make this example happen all over the world. They are in love with these ideas.

North Korea’s nuclear test on February 12 was bought and paid for by Iran, according to claims published yesterday by the U.S. based World Tribune. Based on data provided by Global Information System/Defense & Foreign Affairs, the report states outright that Iran provided scientists and equipment, as well as money, to the North Koreans Read more at www.inquisitr.com...

i'm not an expert in foreign politics, but i could imagine that North Koreas leadership is searching a way to align with the rest of the world, or at least tries to avoid the unavoidable, the collapse of their system.
Not exactly knowing who actually has the power, i could imagine that the uppermost part of that regime knows that it will get wiped out of office once their lower branches and the population gets aware that there might be a future change, and that their beloved nation isn't that cool, than they might think.

The dictator and a few people around him cannot simply step out on their balcony and say that they are planning to turn their nations view around by 180°, because they will get instantly removed from their office by their lower branches, who are kind of indoctrinated since decades.

if ever someone from that regime tries to make a deal with another nation which would help NK it must be done in secrecy, because every outer help is a weakness and a thread to the inner stability.
And if this land looses its inner stability it'll blame SK for it starts to deploy its military regardless wether they can win this or not, and we have the next war on this planet.

Since South Korea and Japan are already totally p***ed off by what NK has done and is doing, it can not be expected that any talks in whatever field lead to something useful for both sides, if representatives are involved into talks.

Now there comes the US which also has a few demands regarding NK, like stopping to export nuclear technology to iran and so on, and there is a good chance that people can talk without being too much nailed to their principles.
As far as i remember Bush and Co. never ever thought about serious talks with them, because NK fulfilled the perfect role as to be a thread to terrorism, nuclear dangers and what not else.
My impression about the US under republican leadership was a nation with muscles, but no brains, and from NK's viewpoint, seeing themselfs as being put into the corner to fulfill its roll as a rogue nation noone dares to start talks.

Just now, since the 'all beloved' old Kim Yun Il died, his successor finds a renewed US government and a possible partner for some exterior help, and a possible way to lay off its image as a rogue nation.

The US might be in debt, but if NK opens up and aligns to the west, we might have a large market there for selling our goods. We would also bring stability to the entire area this way, which could unleash a real potential for trades.

so whatever is brewing over there, we might hear about some changes regarding NK in the future.

so IMHO if any negotiations and talks happen, they can not happen with a public audience, because the situation in NK could get out of control.

The most surprising thing to me was how easily Bill Clinton flew to NK to free Laura Ling four years ago. I could not believe how quickly and quietly that was done. I was stunned at the photos of the room where they met, not dingy at all but quite warm and presentable looking. At that time like now, everyone believed there was no communication at all between the two countries. There may not be a whole lot, but since we all live on the same galactic block, some line of communication is kept open. The moral of the story? We must never think in absolutes when governments are involved.

Really hope you are on target with this theory. I would think the nuclear arena is the big draw for the US. Iran and NK are on the forefront of trouble in the US eyes. More cold war. The conventional war is covered,

As previously stated, the tensions with the North Korea seem staged in order for a reason for the USA to have a foothold in the region.

We need a boogeyman in order to have any strategic influence actually.

No boogeyman, no power.

No power, no security.

No security, learn the metric system.

i think the atomic bomb is not that much of a thread with NK as its isolation and the way the people live there.
imho they are kind of perverted since decades. Their wish to stand up and take a place as one nation along with others can be seen with their ability to run a space program or develop the bomb.
For these 'goals' they even force their people to live without any form of luxury their SK neighbours are used to live with and at least in my imagination with this new leader they might be able to arrange a few things for a better future for them

If so, there must be a start, with talks, with someone. And i cannot imagine many nations on this planet being able to change something for us all, create a vision and a plan.
So this is why i think there will be something happening there, and lets hope i'm correct

The Saddam help became a good reason to invade; hell the US basically put him in power in the first place. So I kinda see why giving NK just enough help to make themselves shoot their own foot. It basically gives a reason to invade them if they do something stupid. I can imagine the world on a global scale is tired of all the chest puffing from NK.

But then who's to say that they want to give a reason to have a change on purpose? Like false flag themselves so not to lose face among their people? We tried to nuke the US...but that didn't work out; so ahh they got us...
we gotta become a democracy; grr we still hate you Americans! wink wink...now how does the UN welfare program work again?

What if North Korea's leader is actaully warmer to the US than it is to Iran?

Its no secret Iran is involved in North Korea's nuclear tests.

I've always wondered, why North Korea was so quick to hault its nuclear programe, blow up a few facilities (on TV) and declare a partnership with the US, only to start testing nukes a quick time later.

Could Iran be playing a double agent? helping both the US and Iran, but reporting to US everything about Iran?

If so, you'd get the feeling this little 'leak' will put North Korea in Irans sights as a traitor.

I must have missed something, what proof do you have of Irans involvement in NK's nuclear tests ?

Is this newspaper reputable? If so, I'm incredulous at this news. Seriously? The U.S. visiting NORTH Korea??

The answer to the US flights to North Korea is contained in the article link that you posted.

The third visit that The Asahi Shimbun has confirmed is one that took place in November 2011. Sources said at least one military aircraft from the Guam air base loaded heavy equipment, including bulldozers, at Yokota Air Base in western Tokyo and flew to Pyongyang. It is believed that the delegation included officials from the U.S. Pacific Command. They met with North Korean officials and discussed efforts to recover the remains of U.S. soldiers killed during the 1950-53 Korean War, the sources said.

The US and North Korea have been involved on and off for decades with teams to find missing servicemen. Nothing unusual in seeing US military flights to North Korea involving the recovery teams. The arrangements and negotiations can be sensitive and obviously break-down in relations can effect these recovery operations.

U.S.-North Korea Conclude POW/MIA Talks The Department of Defense announced today that the United States and Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) officials reached an arrangement to resume recovering the remains of American servicemen missing from the Korean War. The three-day talks held in Bangkok were led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for POW/Missing Personnel Affairs Robert J. Newberry. His negotiating team included representatives from across the Department of Defense, the Department of State, the U.S. Pacific Command and the United Nations Command-Korea. The arrangement calls for U.S. teams to work in two areas in North Korea—Unsan County, about 60 miles north of Pyongyang, and near the Chosin/Jangjin Reservoir—where more than 2,000 soldiers and Marines are believed to be missing. The arrangement includes details on logistics and matters that will ensure the effectiveness and safety of remains recovery teams operating in the DPRK. Accounting for Americans missing in action is a stand-alone humanitarian matter, not tied to any other issue between the two countries. The operations in North Korea are expected to begin next year and will mark the first since 2005, when the U.S. halted missions due to increased tensions on the Korean Peninsula. Prior to that time, U.S. specialists from the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command conducted operations in that country for 10 years, recovering remains believed to be more than 225 servicemen since 1996. Of the approximately 83,000 Americans missing from all conflicts, more than 7,900 are from the Korean War with 5,500 of those believed to be missing in the DPRK.

North Korea supplied Iran with simulation software to conduct tests before developing their program. That software is used for both purposes (weapons or energy), but it's clearly controlled and banned, and both countries had access to it.

Might not be much, but I think there are other signs out there that flag a relationship between Iran and North Korea.

I'm not implicating Iran with North Korea or anything like that. But they have dust on their hands...

The USAF had multiple aircraft that were unmarked, from C-137s, to C-20s that they would fly into areas that were less than friendly to hold talks. They've been to a number of areas holding talks for years about various things.

As tommyjo pointed out however, there are almost 8,000 soldiers still missing from the Korean War. The US pays North Korea millions to search for them.
