Jewish sources say that He was expelled from the Yeshiva for being rebellious and insubordinate; therefore He never become a Rabbi but he stole the title anyway,

i believe he was a 'teacher' and was also called a Rabbi...
but it was in the following of the 'Nazorite/ Nazorean' sect

Rabbi means Teacher in Hebrew.

To my Knowledge he wasn't an "official" rabbi, he just started spreading his message, and people followed. But he was never recognized as a rabbi
