Police in America are investigating what they believe could be a case of spontaneous combustion after the charred remains of a man were found in his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Investigators say there was no other fire damage and there was no evidence of an accelerant being used.
Sheriff Lockhart told 5News: “The body was burned and it was incinerated. This is a case that I’ve never seen before.
"This is very bizarre. You’re thinking someone poured something on him, but there was no fire source."
your argument is sooo convincing. explain how a human body burns to ashes without the rest of the house burning down. usually an external fire is the cause of the body being incinerated, but in cases like this there is only minor damage to the surrounding area with a sooty residue on everything. if it's bs it should be easy so explain away..... oh was that all you had, an argument from authority? those are usually bs themselves

It does leave a bizarre scene that puzzles some people but investigators at one time actually got a pig, and put the equivalent of clothes on it to act as the wick you mentioned, and it duplicated the results investigators say with human bodies burning in similar conditions. They may have to think a little to piece the facts together but I think most of these so called SHC cases are not hard to explain for a competent investigator. For an incompetent investigator, however, thoughts of mystery might enter their speculation, but the mystery to me in those cases is why people with apparently such little knowledge of fires are investigating fires.

There have been multiple documented cases of SHC where there affected person was alive and survived.

Have any of these documented cases undergone rigorous scientific study?

I don't know of any cases at all that have undergone rigorous scientific study.
