Great post overall and I certainly agree with you.

Most importantly, it needs to be realised that both the Republicans and Democrats have made these decision and that neither party can claim any kind of moral superiority over the other, at all. The blood shed really is on everyone's hands

Both parties are certainly culpable however, the criticism is rarely applied with an even hand. Often, the blind eye prevails over the hand of criticism. I was not really around ATS during the Bush years and I certainly have my criticisms of his administration. However, I am just amazed how the current admin. manages to get a free pass for doing the same things and more than his predecessor ever did to harm our nation. It does not matter to his blind supporters and any discussion is practically impossible.

I think they should bring Bush/Cheney and all the others involved up on charges and imprison them for treason. They put our country, our families, our military all in danger, some were killed for their fake war. They need to pay for what they did to us.

The shape we are in now is a direct result of the lies that Bush/Cheney told and the road they took us down.

Even the economy, Bush started this deficit. Granted, Obama hasn't cleaned it up yet and added a great deal onto it, but percentage-wise, Bush still grew a bigger deficit than Obama has or any other President has. I'm not defending Obama at all, he has issues as well, but nothing compared to the issues Bush/Cheney had and until we hold THEM accountable, how can we hold anyone else accountable?

The total cleansing sounds like a very good idea to me. Clean out all of them, both parties, every last one of them. A clean start is the only way we're going to be able to clean up this mess.

It was a lie, plain and simple.

My most vivid memory of it was at a friend's house. Her aged mother who I had known my entire life and had never, ever uttered a foul word toward or about anyone in all the years I knew her. She went to church as many times a week as possible, blushed at the word "darn" and barely spoke above a whisper.

She came into the room with tears flowing down her cheeks and said loud and clear "That Son of a B&($% just declared war". Even thinking about it now my eyes well up and I get a catch in my throat.

We knew at the time it was a lie. We watched as it unfolded before our eyes. Not a day after the towers were hit, we were already saying that Bush would go after Saddam whether he had anything to do with it or not. He did. He totally ignored Bin Laden and went after Saddam who had absolutely nothing to do with it.

I'm not saying Saddam was innocent of any wrongdoing of any kind, he clearly wasn't. However, our nation had just experienced an attack that supposedly came from Bin Laden (I still question whether it was Bin Laden or Bush himself, or at least Cheney). Instead of going after the group that supposedly attacked us, he went a completely different direction and attacked the man who threatened to kill his daddy who also had massive oil reserves.

I don't like any of the politicians much, but Bush and Cheney are at the absolute bottom of my list. They disgust me to no end and I am absolutely ashamed that they were allowed to reside in the White House. They are the most shameful "men" to ever represent our country and I blame each and every problem we have, both then and now, on the two of them. No, Obama isn't blameless at all, but it started with Bush and Cheney. They marked the beginning of our fall. I have pure, unadulterated hatred for them and would support having them drawn and quartered on national television.

Well that really explains a lot about Colin Powell. I really liked him. He has a conscious. He went along with it though. So sad. Sure there's probably more, but that's enough.

Really this whole episode is when my husband and I started feeling like we were outsiders. We were the only two that seemed to see through all this and didn't want that war. I was at work- my whole department was ALL for the war..they were so puffed up. He was experiencing the same thing at his workplace.

It was bad enough that we were pagan, at that time we both started to think maybe we were living in a different reality.

I bet some people will still say, wait a minute here fellow, but where is "the proof"?

Any leader from another country who would have invaded another country under false pretenses like the U.S. did, would have been tried as a war criminal a long time ago.
