Don't Start Creating Meteor Doomsday Threads

I can see it now. People will endlessly post up predictions about the end of the world and how asteroids will be the cause of it. I had enough of that with 2012. None of you're predictions have ever came true in the history of ATS, or the world for that matter.

Lets think logically and not jump to random conclusions with no thought put into them. It seems as though this website follows a trend. A bunch of fish die, end of the world. A meteor strike happens, end of the world. A natural disaster happens, world ends. These are the type of trends I got tired of seeing in the sheep barn, which is why I came to ATS years ago. Back then it was much different on ATS. Much more different than you think.

Now it seems like this is turning into another one of those websites that justs follow the trends. So I ask nicely, please, don't create six hundred asteroid doomsday prediction threads. Don't start claiming that the bible said the world will die from asteroids. Don't twist words of some nut in a book dating back thousands of years to suit a fantasy that will never come true. People find connections unrelated to the subject at hand to make it seem like their predictions are somehow important or worth considering, when really their not.

Thanks.

Ha, I see it too but it's already started. Old videos of meteors streaking across the sky are getting posted as if they just happened. I'd give it a few more days or at least until the next disaster hits.

Unfortunately it has already begun, 4 threads today with videos, of planes with contrails, all claiming to be meteors streaking across the sky (at extremely slow speeds apparently).

No Freeking kidding... some of these people on here see messages and ufo conspiracy things in a bloody rag.. haha

I think their lives are soo lonely that they WISH for world destruction, but watch it pass them by through their home windows...
Paranoia is the on the MAIN MENU for this website!

You're right, of course. I think of the stuff that's going on here lately as the "conspiracy game." There are just too many people here who have no sense of the history of this site. They think of it as a Disclose.tv; or even worse--not even what Disclose.tv is now, but what it previously was. Or fill-in-your-own crappy site. "Sheep barn," as you put it, for instance (I don't know what you mean by that; I never really frequented any other "alternative" sites).

And, of course, they're not interested in learning--certainly not in learning what ATS formerly was or what it was meant to be. Frankly, I think we're just wasting our breath. ATS has been "discovered"; it's too late....

There are many meteor threads created, but not as much as there was nibiru thread last year, and even if they were fun to read, it was quite tiring to see 3-4 of them each day. At least meteor threads tendancy won't last as long as nibiru threads last year, just be a bit patient. in 2 weeks you won't read any thread about meteors anymore

EDIT: Now that there arent much nibiru threads, I keep myself updated about it by watching Scooby Doo Mystery Inc., Velma is on the case

Scooby Doo
. I hear ya.

But in 2 weeks it'll be something else. And 2 weeks after that, something else. Notice how many of the old, really good members have moved on? I notice a couple of them even have their own sites now--apparently trying to re-create what ATS was to them. It's almost sad.

We're being crushed by a mob of ignorant conspiracy Troglodytes now. ATS has become Popular! The worst thing that could have happened. I still come here almost daily; still hoping to find a couple of good threads to keep my head in that place. But they're getting to be too few and far between, and I've thought of moving on myself....

Here is a perfect description of what is going to happen.

The more people you have, the more people are going to criticize and conspiracize about everything.
100 tons of space junk fall on Earth everyday because of past broken satellites, planes, helicopters etc.

Well, you're right, when a "fashioned" topic goes, another comes up... But that's how it works here...
I'd advice to take it at second degree in that kind of situations, and read it for fun, or simply ignore them.

It wouldnt be ats (or as much fun) without the doom porn

I hate fearmongering too but I like to see the doom topics get debated and debunked

I would enjoy the debunking--if it did any good. Usually they just shake it off and get in a snit because everybody doesn't want to fall-in with their favorite doom-porn theory. However, as Ghostfreak1 points out, you can just decline to read them and go elsewhere. Still: It's like having to tolerate the loudening chatter of a bunch of second-graders....
