Why do statists love big government?

Why do statists love big government?
Why do they think it is the state's job to take care of them?
Even when the big government lies to them over and over again.

Statists are the elite, they are not the recipients. As far as Statists are concerned, there are two types of people... themselves and the useful idiots that they use to achieve their goals. Statists are above the very rules they impose on everyone else. They use big government as a control mechanism and as a way of transferring wealth from the citizenry to themselves.

I do not believe this is referring to the elites.
This policy is embraced by those who don't wish to fend for themselves and want the nanny to take care of them.

Statists (liberals) do NOT want to accept personal responsibility for their choices. Big government being an all knowing and all supplying Nanny, fills their void and gives them the direction they needed. Someone "else" is responsible form "them."

There is no control without the nanny... the nanny institutes all of the controls. The people you speak of are the useful idiots.
