(Reuters) - Emelie Olsson is plagued by hallucinations and nightmares. When she wakes up, she's often paralyzed, unable to breathe properly or call for help. During the day she can barely stay awake, and often misses school or having fun with friends. She is only 14, but at times she has wondered if her life is worth living.

Emelie is one of around 800 children in Sweden and elsewhere in Europe who developed narcolepsy, an incurable sleep disorder, after being immunized with the Pandemrix H1N1 swine flu vaccine made by British drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline in 2009.

I never get a flu shot. I let me body handle illness the old fashioned way. Humanity survived for millions of years without any kind of shot or immunizations.

I always had a feeling flu shots or just certain shots in general are bad. I mean who knows what chemicals they are really putting your system...?

I am sure more cases will come out then just the 800 cases. Which is still a lot of people. When 30 million got the shot.

ETA: I think the main point here is that this medicine is the cause for them getting this illness, I am sure this won't be the only thing we will be hearing about. Others will come from other types of meds. Interesting none the less.

The cure is often worse than the problems that can occur. Don't try to fix things that aren't broken. Treating people who already have immunity is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. If you have immunity you will have a reaction against the shots. Adding a strong adjuvant to a medicine can sometimes cause unknown side effects. Is this the reason the Chinese are killing all those sharks and taking the fin, to sell to Pharma companies? With the current system we have of incorporating deception through extensive paper and computer trails they can easily do that.

Well more the chances of getting some kind of illness or having your current illness (flu?) become more resistant to these kinds of illnesses are greater. Think about, your body is becoming dependent on a outside source and cannot defend itself without help. This is one of the main reasons why immunizations are bad. Your body isn't the one trying to control the situation anymore, the medication is.

Not to mention the pharme companies making big money off of them. But that's a different subject for a different thread.

Indeed - because humanity is more than just any 1 person - millions and millions have died from diseases that are now relatively easy to prevent, and if you are not getting shots and are not dying then you owe to those people who did get shots and restricted the prevalence of those diseases.

Hey, rules are rules, right? Anyway, it's pretty sad. I know just how awful it is to have narcolepsy. It is quite debilitating on many levels: physiologically, emotionally, psychologically, etc.

I wouldn't wish narco on my worst enemy. And to think that kids' whole lives will change, most assuredly for the worst, because of a flu shot. That is just sickening to me.

So, maybe a revival of this thread wasn't such a horrible thing.
