Well since I have to start all my posting in this forum here it goes.

I have been wondering of late if there is a possibility that all of the power grabs by the US government aren't just in preparation of an event that the powers that be are aware of and just not sharing all of the information with us. It is apparent to me through recent legislation that our government is setting itself up to defend itself regardless of the will of the people. I have noticed that most conspiracies revolve around a negative motivation of the government for these power grabs, my curiousity is on the possibility of more benevolent motives. (Don't take me wrong I beleive deceit as a means to acheive goals is a huge wrong doing in itself.) What if the government is aware that it will not be around to protect the average joe soon and it will result in more violent society, so its motivations are to protect as many as possible before the collapse. I dont beleive disarming us or forcibly taking our property is the right way to acheive this myself and would fight it should it come to it, but thinking critically I can see where someone could beleive it would be a good idea in a disaster.

Again this is just a thought I wanted to put out there to see what kind of replies I would get.

So you are thinking of a possibility that the government is changing things up to protect people in a collapse... Like say, in a riot, or complete anarchy... Less guns the safer people are? Something like that? Am I even close? Haha. Welcome to ATS sir.

Not saying it is a possibility, just wondering if it is a possibility. But yeah you get the jist of what I was putting out there. I just dont want to go to far out there and say its because they know of an alien invation or something like that. I do beleive that sentient life is out there somewhere but doubt they would get involed with our stupid polititions.

Save this post to start your first thread as you can add to it as well.

Post your 20+ replies in other threads that interest you. Then start your own thread with your concerns. There are plenty of Vets on ATS who may have something to contribute. There are also those who would rather not have us around.

Oh, and welcome to this wild and wacky place.
Have fun and play nice.

Ah hell, this is a wierd and wondertful place to speak up...those of us who feel as you exist, as well as their opposites, here....
The idea of takin away guns so people dont hurt themselves sounds like cognitive dissonance on your part.....and a lot of others too...(incuding me half the time..).lol
There was a thread on here that theorised they were creating the gun ban scenario so we would ARM OURSELVES.....why? maybe for the invasion ?
This is the effects of the pstwar they are using to engineer us in ways convenient for governing us....
Keep yer tail down and yer head up,, but not that far up.....Hail and well met........s

1) Thank you for your contribution and service.

2) Specialists run the Army - they are the fire and forget level of self sufficiency that leaders crave.
(Or should be of course some are not as we all know.)

3) No cog in the military machine is more important than the others. The pointy end of the spear; in your case specifically the armored force is nothing more than a series of immobile lumps of steel without the profesionals who maintain them. Not very effective.

I could never have been successful in my career as a Special Forces Officer without the professional backing of a myriad of professionals in everything from supply and ordinance, to air control and finance along with computer support and everything else.

Don't let anyone tell you any different.

I actually tried for Airborn and wanted Ranger training eventually, My boot camp was at Ft Benning and afterwards was pretty gung ho, I was told even with my PT scores being on the advanced scores and my all first pass go's in training I couldn't. I believe the statement was "What will you do with your Tool Box?".
I talked to a leason again after I finished AIT and received distinguished honor grad, but was told I would need to switch MOS and since I did so well in training I would better serve my country where I was at. Which I did love motor pool.

Wish I could have at least done air assault or something. I truely beleive if it wasn't for my family situation with my mother I would still be in. Probobly trying for a warrant school or something.

I thank you as well for what I expect was or is your great leadership and service to our constitution and country as well.
