It's not strange enough, in Portugal, we (me not included) eat them, as we do with most living things.

Let me guess...they taste like Chicken huh?

So in theory, this eel could very well be superior on another planet (or spaceship) with reasoning skills and the dexterity to build things.

We will probably eat them also.

PS: I suggest "Abomination With Rice" by Rhys Hughes, to get an idea of what Portuguese people think about any monster. Although it's fiction, the people's reactions on that story are based in real facts.

No, if they did I would eat them too, I don't like how they taste.

Honestly, did he have to kill it? I find it highly unlikely that he would eat it. That poor thing.
Just because it is creepy looking or ugly doesn't make it any less of a living creature than the next one.

There's a large trick of perceptive going on there , its held at an angle to the camera to make it look a lot larger than it really is. If he straightened that sick up you would see it a lot thinner than his wrist which is normal Lamprey size.

Quoting to help out the crytozoologist types conversing on the second page.

A disgusting creature, no doubt, but definitely an [unintentional] optical illusion.
