No.

But let's say we had no legal system and, if a person killed anyone, they wouldn't go to prison.

Who's to say they wouldn't immediately just go kill someone again?

The prison system is there to keep the general public safe from people who would do them harm. That's all.

Moral duty to keep the guy safe?
No.
Good for the other inmates.

Yeah ok. You tell yourself that.

Listen, I have always considered myself a pacifist and have always abhored capital punishment because I don't trust the judicial process to get it right...

However, in this case I think it's crystal clear what happened and they gave the guy 23 years. 23 years for him to think about how hard done by he's been because he tortured a tiny child at his pleasure and will be free to do so again.

I think there are certain times that some criminals do what we would honestly love to do if we weren't afraid of the law.

so if you cut out the 2 children being killed in this made up instance as a balance cancelling each other out..

you sentence would be...

"ill praise him because he killed"..

Does not sound right to me. Just to rephrase, i'm not defending the killer, i against the people that are praising the vigilante who might be a killer himself.

Translation: It took two prisoners, to do what the Justice system wouldn't. Exact Justice for a poor, tortured, innocent little Girl.

Good!

I think you've been misinformed on what pacifism means.

Exactly. You want punishment, but you won't do it yourself. And you don't want to see it.

Out of sight out of mind, as long as there's blood. Blood... Mm... Tasty. Makes everything better.

Interesting choice of pronoun.

Holding back some urges?

Snipped from OP's link......

*BLANK*... died with 107 injuries on her body after suffering a month of what the court at Anwar's trial heard was "unbelievable" cruelty. A postmortem examination revealed that her arms and legs were broken and there were 36 bruises to her head and neck, 26 to her arms and 10 to her abdomen.

Two bruises on her thigh revealed where she had been battered with metal poles. The girl had also been locked in a cupboard and put in a tumble dryer.

She died after fat deposits from her broken bones got into her bloodstream.

*******************************************************************************************************

Now, all of you castigating the rest of us, for being relieved this MONSTER has been wiped off this Earth....

Read the above. Stop a moment. See the all caps word, BLANK.

Now, fill in that BLANK, with name of of one of your own children.....do you understand now....

Do you defend Islamic terrorists for killing American soldiers? After all, the American military HAS killed an awful lot of children by bombing cities. Or not. I mean, those kids are a weird shade of brown, and have confusing names, and worship some weird god called "Allah". So they're not quite as human, maybe.

No, I really don't see where you are going with this.

Talking about the miriads of innocent people killed in the Middle East is... What?
I don't even know what the f*ck you're talking about. How is that related in the slightest?

Well, two murderers are justified in your mind for murdering a man who murdered a child.

So terrorists are justified for murdering soldiers who were part of a military that murdered many children.

Oh. I apologize. I didn't realize you're a relative of the child involved.

You're gonna need that sword my friend.
Yeah if I caught a guy raping and murdering a little girl I'd kill him, I've killed for less (innocent lives were in immediate danger) and it was an army thing. Got thanked by many families. Better than letting the killings happen and then a prison sentence for the killer.

Get this

There is a reason to kill

If one innocent is saved from torture, rape and murder

Guess what ? It was worth it

Actually I am accutely aware of what pacifism means and have always lived by it but unfortunately, the world is not a nice place and as I've grown up, I've come to realise that no matter how nice I am to people, the world is full of a lot of bad people and no matter how much I try to change that, it will always be so...

So you attempt to qualify murder because the person murdered was a murderer.

Pacifism sure has changed a lot since I last saw it.

Hm. So, you try to play the, "What if the child was your child?" card, and then when I play it back to you, I'm a heartless individual.

Yes. Imagine this poor child, two years old. No one there to defend it, waking up each morning in gruesome pain knowing more will come from her torturer. Can you imagine that????

I pity the humans on this planet for living in a dog eat dog world, that becomes more evil by the year it seems, but this monster and his mother I do not pity. To torture a small child for a whole month until its tiny heart gives up is pure evil.

As I write this now there are more children out there being tortured in domestic hellholes or even in sex trafficking by pure beasts. None of these child torturing beasts deserve to keep their lives. They deserve death.

Vain imaginations provide no intelligent thinking on a subject like this. I'm sure I can sit, meditate, and imagine the pain, agony, and sadness of all the persons involved. Where would that get me?

It would get me on a thread saying how awesome murder is.

Prisoners are quite ingenious when it come to finding a way to get to another prisoner...unless the guy was in solitary 24/7 they would find a way to get the Bassa....and the guards would be pretty much powerless.
