New Flavor of Cognitive Dissonance : Comfort Logic

What do you think about people that use emotional comfort to evaluate the legitimacy or validity of information?
Most people I see that won't believe in conspiracy facts(like operation gladio,QE3,Fait currency, and fast and furious,CIA drug trafficking,etc)think that if a form of information makes them feel uncomfortable then its false and if a form of information makes them feel comfortable then its true.

Do you think this form of processing information is dangerous?

Example 1: The Sky is actually green you only think its blue. Green skys mean you will be ok.
Blue skies mean your mentally ill.

Example 2: No the sky is red. Red means love. You want to fall in love with a purple unicorn right?

Example 3: The sky is really made of yogurt. Yogurt tastes good right? If you think the sky isn't made of yogurt you will be imprisoned for second degree thought offense.

Example 4: DHS says they have prevented terrorists from attacking us. They make me feel safe so unconstitutional authoritarian extremist policies are warranted to keep the terrorists from attacking us.

of course one can turn this around , to highlight the " comfort logic " < your phrase > of such statements as :

" i dont beklieve anything the govt says "

" i dont believe anything the MSM says "

" the govt / eleties / big pharma / monsanto are trying to kill us "

" aliens are coming to save us "

etc etc

I don't beleive =! I dont trust

If they had they would have already done it. They still need us at the moment.

I tend not to believe a source that gets caught lying over and over again and censoring truth.

Would you trust someone that lied that often to you? No you wouldn't.
