The point is ... the bible claims that they were written by God Himself on the mountain top. That simply isn't true. They had been around, in other
forms, for at least 1200 years before Moses wrote the 10 Commandments.
In all honesty, I'm not sure that you've really made a point here.
Just because God wrote the 10 commandments on two stone tablets for Moses doesn't mean that they didn't originate from Him. As far as you know, the
ark of the covenant which housed the 10 commandments and held special power could have been proof to other peoples and nations that they originated
with Him and not the other gods that were being worshiped at the time.
The 10 commandments weren't the only thing that God gave Moses. He also gave him "testimonies, statutes, and judgements" to pass on to the people
By the way, what did Jesus have to say about Moses?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.
47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in
the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
