Just woke up to a news report on the bbc news on tv. A large explosion over a mountain in Russia has sparked fears.

Some people are claiming it cointeresting ufo, loud explosions were heard and a booming sound. The official story is thata meteor crashed, there is a video on the website to look at if you fancy.

It will be interesting to keep our eye on this one fellow members.

I believe it was a UFO until it became identified as a meteorite. Then it became a IFO.

It seems that every thing that crashes into Earth, erupts or shakes the globe is causing suspicions lately.

Let's go back, way back to the dark ages and beyond to prehistory. Every natural event was either that the Gods were angry or they were pleased. We haven't come very far IMO. Someone is going to come on here soon and say that it's a sign because of the Pope quitting his day job.

But hey...Maybe this one time...

Peace

Saw the video. It's a meteorite.

Some say UFO? There are always psychologically challenged people who will call it a UFO. In this day and age you'd think intelligence was a bit more advanced aye!

Never called it a UFO even for once... this is where some who lack the ability to think miss the objectivity and go to the ridiculousnes of calling everything 'a UFO' or aliens. All showed a meteorite... yes close.

I think it was space rock. It made exactly the same pattern as this one

www.bbc.co.uk...

Same explosion, so either they are both UFO crashes or both Meteoroids.

Actually when the story broke, RT.com used the headline, "Meteorite crash in Russia: UFO fears spark panic in the Urals (VIDEO, PHOTOS) — RT"

I think what is crazy is for people to jump on the "crazy" bandwagon ...

well your thread is in the ufo section and discussion about possible ufo rather than breaking news so it might not get closed.

to be honest... it could well be a ufo... but of course, the public would be told it is a meteor.

I saw this video yesterday ( 5 alien races destroyed asteroid heading towards earth - Published on 13 Feb 2013 ) and today I hear the news about meteorite hitting the Russia . Are these 2 incidents in anyway related to each other ?

Check this out

Edit :

Here is another similar video ( published on 9 Mar 2011 )

No they're not connected , the video you posted is of a rocket launch like this one .

The twinkling UFOs are jettisoned solid fuel boosters .

Russian meteor largest in a century
Explosion rivalled nuclear blast, but rock was still too small for advance-warning networks to spot.
Geoff Brumfiel
15 February 2013
www.nature.com...

A meteor that exploded over Russia this morning was the largest recorded object to strike the Earth in more than a century, scientists say. Infrasound data collected by a network designed to watch for nuclear weapons testing suggests that today's blast released hundreds of kilotonnes of energy. That would make it far more powerful than the nuclear weapon tested by North Korea just days ago and the largest rock crashing on the planet since a meteor broke up over Siberia's Tunguska river in 1908.
